Most guys playing in Europe in EL teams are either locked on big contracts (tax free...) - which means large buy out - or probably willing to sign in 'their' league (for american players) for major deals.
Anyway it makes no sense for this Hornets team. They need their Fox, Coby or their Young more than anything else. For now, they just need a vet to help Monk to develop enough to become a real nba player.

Is it wrong that I that this is the most excited I’ve been for an NBA season in like 3 years? I love Kemba, but be peaked here in Charlotte. Also, as odd as it sounds, I found more enjoyment in watching us when we tank than watching us when we strive for an 8th seed. I just find a lot of joy in going into games wanting nothing more than a decent showing from our young guns.
I have very fond memories of coming home from highschool everyday, taking a nap, then waking up to watch the 7-59 bobcats with my only hope for the game being Kemba scores atleast 14 points on atleast 40% shooting
I am also already pumping my up for the next draft (is it too early to start 2020 draft threads?; I am already ready to argue why Anthony Edwards is a much better prospect for us than James Wiseman)
Idk, with us seemly committing to a tank, I feel some semblance of hope for the first time in years.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

Clearing up the front court is right there with finding a point guard.

Clean house:
Biyombo, Williams, Gilchrist, and Monk.

Upgrade the center position.

Oh calm yourself. If being bad meant relocation, theb Us, the Timberwolves, and the Kings would have been moved to Vegas, Kansas, and Seattle years ago. Also the one good thing about MJ is he will never allow this team to move out of NC due to his strong ties to the area.

I actually do live close to Kansas City, I moved out here 3 years ago. It's a cool, very underrated city but Charlotte has more going on. The same can be said for Memphis, New Orleans, Milwaukee, Cleveland, and Oklahoma City. If the NBA were to choose a team to be relocated it wouldn't be the Hornets. Y'all are just being nihilistic at this point.

I'm kinda with you tbh. I love Kemba as much as anyone but yeah, he's peaked. He's peaked and his peak wasn't really good enough at the right time for us. I lost a lot of interest going into every year knowing we would be drafting somewhere between 9-16 never winning anything in the playoffs. It hurt trading Crash for basically nothing but now I'm glad I didn't have to see his rapid decline on a nightly basis, so I still remember him only positively. Kemba will probably be the same way. I love Kemba but I know he's not close to Kyrie. The media hyping him up as some kind of superstar is kind of funny to me given all the disinterest they've had toward him all his time here. **** ESPN, **** people on twitter tbh. we are doing the right thing for us. even trading him at the deadline might not have been better than what we have now depending on what salary we would have had to take back.

It does seem like Mitch has done a solid job since he's been here, but you can never really tell until 3-4yrs down the line when you see how all the draft picks developed.

It's a shame that everyone is crapping on our current FO with the pile-on following Kemba's departure and pinning all the years of bad signings and draft picks on them as if it is their fault. Completely different group of people now.

Imagine if Mitch would've traded this upcoming years first for Gasol. Whew.

Unpopular opinion - the young guys will develop better without Kemba if the team can sign a pass first PG.

MHO, but the NBA game today really does reward teams with scoring guards like Kemba. He has the right skillset for this moment. But those pass first teams develop other players faster. Rubio is going to Indiana, but he a great example of a player that would be good for Charlotte's rookies. Graham will be good for the team for similar reasons. I'm against going after Mudiay for this exact reason. Two pass first teams have let him go now. His scoring might help a win now team, but he's not the PG you want for Miles, PJ, or even Monk to grow with. I would rather have a Patrick Beverly who plays hard, than a Mudiay who is going to looks to score. I would rather have Payton than Rose.

The one real exception to this for me is Jeremy Lin. I would be happy to have Lin back for several reasons - I do think that it would help attendance for example - but the big reason is that his high character and passing would work well with the rookies.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Could not agree more on all of this.

I want a pass 1st PG - which is why I am on board with Payton as well - to help get Bacon, Bridges and PJ the ball in the right spots at the right time.

I want a PG who will feature those guys, not himself (like Mudiay).

And your Lin reasons are the same as mine. High character guy who still has some juice and brings some excitement who the fans know and liked, Plus he's not a bad facilitator.

I was on the Mudiay train but I see you and Vanderbilts point for the pass first PG like Payton. As for Lin I don't see it. He's been injured since leaving the Hornets and had success in a different system. But if healthy I would accept with open arms.

I know it sounds disrespectful to lamb but if you can't find a cheap shooting guard to put up 15 points a game then your Scouts should be fired.

We need to think of roster building the same way the Houston Rockets play basketball, nothing but three-pointers and free throws. Your free throws are your draft picks on rookie deals, and your Bargain Bin vets and G League guys, and your three pointers are your studs. Nothing in between.

I'd like to see in a roster where we had nothing in between 5 million + 25 million.

The only scenario I'm okay with bringing Jeremy back would be a one-year (maybe 2)deal if he strikes out in free agency. this would give him another chance to hit the market next year after averaging 20 points a game on a terrible team.

Only thing I can think is sign him then trade him in the next year or two. If he keeps it up we could probably get a first round pick from a playoff team for him

There was plenty of usage left after Kemba, if these young players had any shine this past season they had enough chances to show it. The rotations could've been better, but this myth that Kemba was bad for the youngs is just being a sore loser about him leaving. Kemba spread the floor and created shots for others with the defensive attention he drew, now we will see how the team does without a creator that pulls the defense.

I give us a 73% chance to start the season with Wiggins on our roster. Just a feeling.
