these dudes spent more time running away from the ball since they got here stop it  kemba got trapped consistently for the past 3 years and the ONLY person on the roster to actually come to relieve him consistently was tony parker

its open tryouts now no excuses for anyone

like who

tatum and brown had no issues with him. they played fine together - kyrie is the guy who was about to get slapped every other time out. and that goes back to his time in cleveland as well. short term memory is really skewing this one

You say that like it’s a bad thing. At least Terry has shown he can start for a playoff caliber team

Idk about picks guys. I'm hoping but it sounds like Boston still doesn't have a commitment from Horford so they're just hoping he changes his mind. We'll see.

Celtics didn’t have locker room friction til Kyrie came back

https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/celtics/seary-terry-rozier-not-helping-his-cause-venting-about-celtics

Alas, Rozier never quite got past mad, and he didn’t make much of a case for a larger role during the regular season. The Celtics were 9.6 points per 100 possessions better with Rozier on the bench this season. That included a minus-1.2 net rating during his 1,791 minutes on the court — the lowest rating among regulars — and the team’s net rating spiked to plus-8.4 in Rozier’s 2,165 minutes off the court, the highest number on the team among any player.

Rozier was better in the postseason (more so against Indiana than Milwaukee) and particularly when he didn’t let his shot-making effect his defensive intensity. The Celtics owned a net rating of plus-2.8 in Rozier’s 162 minutes of court time over nine games, and the team had a net rating of minus-4.3 in his 270 minutes on the bench. His minutes eroded a bit when Marcus Smart returned from injury.

Rozier has vented about having to morph the way he played when he shared the court with Irving but, alas, that’s the downside of being behind an All-NBA point guard. What that ignores is that Rozier owned a net rating of plus-4.2 in 441 minutes alongside Irving and then plummeted to minus-3.1 in the 1,350 minutes without him this regular season. Rozier’s individual output improved without Irving, his usage rate jumping 5 percent without him, but it sort of hammers home that individual success sometimes blinded Rozier from the fact that his biggest payday would have come from team success.

Kemba is gone time to move on

contract comes off the books the same time as everyone else more or less. salary floor essentially guaranteed

what's the worst that could happen - we could be bad? terry is either gonna play well or be used to swap an even worse contract in hopes of bringing picks or prospects with him

people looking at this the wrong way imo

To me, the contract isn't the issue.

The player is.

Rozier plays like a straight up chucker dumbass. He developed into what everybody said Kemba would be (inefficient me-first chucker), and has a mindset that he's an All-NBA player while being an average to below average player. He apparently admitted to quitting last year because he didn't like his role and the culture. No gracias on this dude.

For those of you trying to defend this deal, read this. Then let it sink in. Then realize that he just signed for three years at 19 million dollars per year. Then let it sink in. Then smack yourself for originally defending it.

you could at least not be lazy af and post his numbers as a starter in the playoffs or something but naw lets just reduce everything to his time as a backup with an inconsistent role

You’re posting from emotion rather than common sense, logic and reason. The facts don’t care about your feelings. What I posted are the facts. Another fact: Terry Rozier sucks.

Bismack got his contract based on how he played in the playoffs with Toronto.

Its a terrible idea to pay a player based on a few playoff games when you have a few hundred RS games to look at.

Rozier had 19 playoff games at 16/5/6 in 17/18 season, but he averaged 40% shooting and 35% from 3. His "good playoffs" is basically Kemba before Kemba learned to shoot.

I'm cool with signing Rozier at $1.6 million per year. More than that, heck no. He has more rebounds than assists per 36 minutes, and you want him to be your point guard?

I’m not defending Rozier or the signing but things were bad in Boston last year. Sounds like Kyrie was a cancer. So bad Horford is considering the Kings. Rozier, Tatum and Brown all had sub par years. Rozier turned into a chucker as he was playing for a new contract with limited minutes. The team did perform much better the year before with Rozier at pg. Just saying.

not my argument.

i don't think that overpaying for a block of contract space that will come off the books the same time as everyone else is a big deal. he either gets better, or he doesn't. its a risk reward thing and honestly we're not bound or limited by this at all - its not like we're signing anyone else any time soon lol. but saying the guy sucks because he took the biggest bullet of all the celtics is misrepresenting information.

I don't see what's so hard about just waiting to see how it plays out as opposed to putting so much energy into complaining about it.

We paid a backup 19 million a year to help the team that took our best player. What is the point of doing anything to support this organization? Bring back the Buzz and the entire Charlotte community needs to boycott this team until MJ is forced to sell.

The fewer fans in the arena the better.
