Re: OT: Video Game Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos Thread
Platinum'd Days Gone tonight, first game I've ever done that for as I don't usually care about trophies. Just in time because they just released some updates/DLC endless horde mode. With Cyberpunk 2077 slated for 2020 I don't think anything will top this. Man I've had a Days Gone boner for a while.

Re: OT: Video Game Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos Thread
But now I have the "CPU Fan Error" message because I'm using a water cooler and plugged the pump cable into the AIO PUMP header on my motherboard. I think I've read that the error is nothing to worry about and I can get rid of it in the BIOS?
Also, hearing the AIO cooler freaks me out, sounds like water is dripping on everything.

There should be a section in the bios called fan control, go there and enable CPU Q-FAN Control. Make sure you enable it and then set the fan speed limit to ignore and it should get rid of it.

Thanks. I found a BIOS setting to set the CPU FAN on ignore.

OT: Video Game Computers/Gadgets/Gizmos Thread
So I downloaded PUBG, Apex, Civ VI, and Path of Exile. Any must buys for PC at the moment?
I don’t have any buddies with PC’s so if you guys are ever playing a multiplayer game and need somebody let me know, I’d buy the game and play if it’s up my alley.
EDIT: I will say I’m terrible with mouse and keyboard for first person shooters right now, after only playing on console for the last 15 years.

Being new to PC I’ll always recommend some mod community staples in Skyrim and GTA5.
XCOM2 is one of my favorite games of all time I’ve sunk hundreds of hours into it and you can get the collection bundle for six bucks right now.
CIV6 is on sale right now too
Overwatch is a lot of fun, but you’ll have to practice a lot to get good at it (especially coming from console).
Also be on the look out for the steam summer sale which should be coming up soon.

Holy ****, Civ 6 is confusing for somebody who's never played before. It felt like I had barbarians attacking me before I had any idea what I was doing.

I'm not great at it, but know just enough to not be terrible. I tend to focus on production, science and military. Late game, bad a$$ troops with advance technology can just smash someone with high culture or religion and take them out. Build lots of cities early and pay attention to where you can place districts. If you can squeeze a university next to 3 mountains somewhere, you'll be oozing research. Trading routes are also huge for gathering heeps of gold to rush production.
Most of all just enjoy the ride. Favorite Civ memory was probably 15 years ago, up at 3 AM playing as the Germans rolling tank after tank over the mountains to destroy Paris.

Your RNG is filthy. Crazy to get those both to drop in one league. Grats. Now give me some RNG luck.
Yeah as soon as it dropped I started making a build for it. To be honest though, I don't have much interest in playing a magic find tornado shot build.
Think I might sell it. I have it listed on POE trade for 115 exalted. If someone offers that, I'll let it go.
I beat Elder for the first time last night, in yellow maps. Died twice learning the mechanics, but otherwise felt pretty good.
Unfortunately, my drops were ****. As they have been all league long. I've had one single exalt drop. Nothing noteworthy, above 50C or so, in gear either. Everyone's talking about how great this league is for drops, and I don't doubt it, but here I sit with my terrible RNG. Sigh.
About ready to move on, though. Will play more casually here on out.
Have you tried any of the emblem encounters? By collecting the splinters from the monoliths?
They are super fun, and the loot is fantastic.

I have not. I have one emblem total. Planned to do it once I even hit two, but...

I made a toxic rain character to try and farm monoliths. Leveling her now. Fun play style and clears way faster, but very squishy atm.

The emblem encounters are super fun, probably my favorite league mechanic ever. When I have 4-5 emblems again, I'll shoot you an invite.

I'm trying to get a 6L BotB for this toxic rain build to help with life. I have a BotB, but not 6L.
IYO, is it worth trying to link it myself? I've spent about 150 fusing thus far without luck. Which is fine, I know it takes 1200 on average. But would it be worth trading my 1EX for 200 more fusing to keep trying, or would you recommend saving the EX, finding something else in the meantime, and saving to just buy one for 4EX once I (hopefully finally) have some RNG go my way with drops?
I'm in a similar position for a Lioneye's, but those are only like 1.5EX to buy linked already.

Anyone buy Super Mario Maker 2? I’m debating if it’s worth a pickup now, or just wait it out for a bit and maybe someone grabs it off my Amazon wishlist come the holidays. Never played the first.

I did. I'm enjoying it - working on creating Jungle Hijinxs from DKC1. Story mode is fun. Lots of really cool community courses already. Some of the best Mario levels I've played in a while are from the community. Big omission is not being able to link multiple levels together to make your own "world", but you can bookmark a user and it's easy to see all of their courses. Most who make consecutive stages label them 1-1, etc.
I don't regret it at all. I've played 2-3 courses a day and feel like I will play this game for a LONG time.

I've never had good luck trying to link chest pieces on my own. Two leagues ago when everyone was playing Arc, I spent 1500+ fusings trying to link an Inpulsa's that never linked. Ended up selling it and just buying a 6 link.
Improved quality on your gear improves the odds of hitting a 6 link. If you're trying to link a chest piece for example, you would use the Hillock crafting bench through the immortal syndicate, so you would want to get Hillock to Rank 3, and make sure he's the leader in Fortification, and then run the safehouse.

Thanks. I ended up buying a 20c 6L, added % Life and Mana mod, and lucked out with 8/8 roll. It’s a 1ex chest now so will certainly do me fine until I can get a belly. Definitely do need that though. This build is squishy.
Bought 6L Lioneye as planned, which was mega playstyle improvement and boost. That said, definitely feeling underpowered right now trying to do “good” (yellow) monoliths. I’m mid-70s though so expect feel to improve when I’m mid-80s and have completed uber lab.
I am farming way, way, way more timeless shards. I got my first 2 emblems and ran them. Killed 3 uniques and got ok drops. I assume I need to do way more than that, and have it be 4 or 5 emblems, to get one of those crazy drop screens I see on Reddit?
God damnit this is a good league. Whenever I think I’m done, I’m not.

Steamworld Dig 2 has been sitting in my inventory since the day it came out and I haven't dug in until today and it's such a perfect little game.
