I love Al but helllll no. He’s 33.

Yeah I would give up the Memphis pick for 29-year-old Al no questions asked, but who knows how good he will be over the next four seasons?

Yeah I know. I definitely want the sign and trade to happen, I'm just not sure if Butler to LA is good.

Why not?

Butler leaving opens up a spot for Horford, doesn't it?

But at the same time, we'll have money to offer since we now have his cap hold. Offer enough and he's back IMO.

Doesn't work that way. We use the cap space to sign someone, TPE goes away, doesn't come back even if we go over cap post-trade.

We operate as a below the cap team, trade Rozier to Charlotte, absorb Kemba in to space, trade Rozier to Charlotte out going 9 bills, 18 bills incoming for Charlotte.

We would have to waive Horford rights to do this. This is the fall back if the sky 3 way doesn’t materialize.

I have convinced myself it works lol.

to be a below the cap team we have to renounce Rozier. No way around that. Then we cannot turn around and do a sign and trade with him.

He beat father time being good this year. He could be half the player come next season. He's playing against father time to delay his fall off the cliff.

Also like the move not paying for Durant. Think he won't ever be the same when he comes back.

Edit: Team option in the last year too, great for them.

Still think you gotta pay him. Few people would blame you for that gamble.

What seems obvious is that Zarren and Danny and Austin are working the phones to try to get some deals in place, and we have nowhere near sufficient information to even speculate. The only thing that is clear: this stated Walker-Rozier sign-and-trade makes little sense until we get more information.

Am I the only one who thinks the Bucks got way weaker? Obviously anyone with Giannis is a favorite, but damn they lost some talent.

Nope. If we renounce Horford, Morris we can get below without renouncing Rozier. I think with the simultaneous trade we then drop below the cap enough to absorb Kemba. I am probably wrong but that’s my story.

I'd say that just about everyone thinks they got much weaker.

The Knicks still have $51 million of cap space. They can still build a competitive team.

Remember the Knicks punted Porzingis to do the KD/Kyrie and possible AD pairing (if they landed at #1)

They have had enormous bad luck just like us.

They don't land at #1 so they can't trade for AD

Durant does his achilles and now they don't want to risk it given the history of these injuries

They are actually making a smart decision here with Randle.
