Nets will win the press conference, Knicks will be but of all jokes. But when you look at it, Nets just went all in on a loonie/chemistry killer in Kyrie, and KD - a guy that's gonna miss a year with the worst injury a basketball player can have. I could easily see that to turn into a disaster. Knicks will at least have flexibility and a high draft pick.

Flexibility for what? Least Nets upside is a championship.

I said it was a hot take

I mean, I get why Nets took the gamble. I would be shocked if it worked.

Flexibility? Take a salary back (Whiteside, Teague) and get an asset for it. Have an option to add max guy in 20 or 21 while you develop your young guys (Know, Robinson, Smith, RJ) plus another top pick next year. Things change so fast in this league, having options is good.

****, and I can't emphasize **** enough, no.

I would. I’ll drive the pick to Brooklyn. I think Nets will say no unless they get something significant.

That pick can get us a player that will be good when Tatum is being courted by NY and LA and deciding if he wants to stay in Boston.

Horford may not even be good as soon as next season. Father time claims everyone, and he looking at Horford's ability to move side to side as a 33 year old big man and saying "hmm you've had more time than most already".

100% this.

Ill give a first to Brooklyn. I wont give them a future unprotected lottery pick.

That's what I read a while ago from the Lakers reddit guy (RDAmbition) and it makes sense with Butler likely leaving.

Im with you. KD is done as a top 5 player and will return closer to Jimmy Butlers level. The Nets wont be good next year IMO. Im guessing theyre the 6 seed.

Can't we then sign-and-trade Kemba for Horford going elsewhere? Could be much cheaper trade than with Nets. That bigger MLE, BAE and a possibility to re-sign Mook would still be pretty great. As well as a possibility to sign-and-trade a player for outgoing Rozier.

Also like the move not paying for Durant. Think he won't ever be the same when he comes back.

Edit: Team option in the last year too, great for them.

Yeah, it's not bad when you add this in:

If true, Al is leaving the Cs to go to a division rival and backup Embiid and Harris. Is this just about the money or is he pissed at the Celtics?

Weren't they saying that Leonard requested that only Jeannie Buss and Magic Johnson be in the meeting? Who is Pelinka going to deliver a sales pitch to if he's not in the meeting?

at the griz pick or 4 years 120m...... Sorry Al, tax isn't worth it for a 37 year old 3pt center who didnt make as many 3pt shots.

Money wise maybe, but has anyone wondered whether a Harris, Simmons, Horford, Embiid lineup could even work defensively? At the money they would be paid, they gotta be your starters. I don’t understand why Philly would want to do that other than to get Embiid’s most frustrating matchup out of the way, lol.

This fool doesn’t even mentioned the clippers in the conversation. I swear if leonard signs with the lakers I better see the media kill him for it. Durant got a lot of heat for signing with the warriors .
