Teague isn't enough salary to make it work. It's the 125% rule. $27.5m / 125% = $22m so we have to send out around $22m in order to take back $27.5m in a s&t.

This is true. I wonder if this could be made into s four team trade, being intertwined with the Saric deal. Each team would have to “touch” each other, but Saric plus Teague would be enough.

WTF Jimmy. Apparently it wasnt all about winning, it was all about ego.

This leaves no one to superteam Kawhi with on the clippers, meaning they might get shut out. If they get shut out, opens up another possibility for us with cap space.

Wade is coming out of retirement. Book it

If he does, my hatred for him already couldnt get any bigger. Especially after doing the whole "look at me goodbye tour" last year.

Can we make something of Taj signing in NY? S&T for TPE or something to use on DLo?

I don't think there's going to be any takers for Wigs that don't involve sending out multiple FRPs. DLo might not require a max, but it'll take more than Teague's 19M. I could see someone taking Culver + Teague and giving back a FRP in return. Another option is one FRP out with Dieng then stretching Teague.

Wiggins will get easier to dump after 1-2 years come off the books.

You are in a much better position if you S&T with Nets instead of the renouncing. They must be on the phones now. The Warriors are about to make a big play at Russell to get something back in a KD S&T deal. If I am Minny I offer something like a Top 10 protected first and some throw in guy who no one really cares for on an expiring deal next year. IDK?

Swapping Teague for Dragic and sending Teague to a 3rd team would allow us to create enough room for DLo without taking back raw cap space for Wiggins. We could take back a smaller contract.

Out:
Wigs+Teague+Saric (50 mil)
In:
Russell + Dragic + up to 16 million expiring (Jr smith?)

Nets can’t take back any salary. They need all of their cap for Kyrie and KD. S&T is basically off the table without a 3rd team who can take close to a max deal to make caps work.

TBH we’d be better off if they renounce. Takes GSW out of the equation. They can’t clear that much space without losing a major piece.

Why would the Warriors get anything when the Nets can sign KD with their cap space?

Teague alone could work if Dlo takes 23.75. If not have to work with Saric deal or Okogie.

Russell still has to agree to it in order for it to happen. Why would Russell want to play with another ball dominant pg. Sounds like a disaster to me.

Plus we have no throw in guy. It has to be Wiggins or teague and one of okogie or Culver to get to the $22m-$23m

karch34 also thought it maybe didn't make sense to sign Gibson after the 3yr Randle thing. Maybe this is all just one piece to the puzzle coming together. I thought I had read that Warriors were maybe interested in Taj at one point.
