Lakers are his only option at this point, so if he goes there, the NBA is in a bad spot.

Why are the Clippers out?

I don't think Kawhi would go there alone.

Seems pointless.

Clippers are better than TOR without Kawhi IMO.
They’re the only team to have faced a healthy GS squad and still pushed them to 6 games.

Siakam is the only guy Kawhi would miss on another team, what Lowry and Gasol bring is very replaceable.

Was the total salary confirmed?

I'm just curious if with the sign and trade Jimmy was able to get his 5th year max? Would be a little surprised if he let that go.

Total was 4/142 on twitter, so assuming despite S&T, he still didn't get the 5th year.

I guess probably at this point but I seriously question if Joseph is better than Dunn.

Given their development last season, you could argue they are in a better situation than Toronto was in when they traded for Kawhi.

Damn, Durant and Kyrie took less to sign with the Nets so Jordan could get a 4 year 40 mil deal.
That's got to hurt the Knicks brass and also SAS is likely to stroke out tonight.

At this point I would wait it out to see what contracts these teams want to offload to fit these big deals. I like the idea of Tyus Jones from the Wolves if they get DLo. Ish Smith would be a good bargain toom

Idk, with the moves so far today I think Kawhi stays in Toronto on a 1+1 max deal. The East changed a lot but I don’t think for the better. Toronto with him are easily the favorites. Bucks lost Brogdon, Celtics got Kemba to replace Irving but lost Horford, Philly did whatever the hell you want to call what they just did lol, and Miami is a one star show with Butler, which we all saw firsthand what that gets you. Only East team that improved so far is Indiana and Nets in my opinion. And missing KD this year doesn’t make them a threat in my opinion. So Kawhi should stay with Toronto because the East is still his.

In a weird way, that's good. If there is one team in the league which has to first collect some young assets, it's them. Durant needs a ready to win organization and the Knicks are terrible.

It would have been like the Carmelo show a few years back....junk team with fake excitement because Durant wouldn't have had no help. DSJ sucks and Dallas was pretty much giving him away before the Knicks gifted them Porzingis.

The Knicks should’ve done it (offered Durant the max). If they’d of got him, they’d be looking at a season of developing Knox, RJ, etc and a likely top 4 pick next season. Adding Durant and potentially a number 1 pick to the active roster next season would’ve been great for them.

Knox, Barrett and all those kids even if they turn out to be all star types would require 4 to 5 years for them to be contributing to a contender. Durant would be old by then. They needed either a multiple star addition or better off rebuilding with young kids. They have to stop chasing big names.

You can't get the 5th year in sign and trades anymore, at least that's what I thought they changed in the CBA a couple years ago.

Ahh could be true, the latest CBA was during my hiatus of closely following the league so I'm not as up on all the changes.

You have forgotten more about the CBA than I've ever known.

I don't think the Nets are done constructing that roster. I think they signed DeAndre for a reason. Now they can trade assets (including Allen) and add another star. Bradley Beal maybe.
