Technically speaking, the Warriors and Celtics are the 2 teams the nets can't sign and trade Russel to, because they would have to renounce him (or have signed and traded him for raw cap space) in order to perform a sign and trade for Durant or Irving.

Nets can’t take back any salary. They need all of their cap for Kyrie and KD. S&T is basically off the table without a 3rd team who can take close to a max deal to make caps work.

Teague alone could work if Dlo takes 23.75. If not have to work with Saric deal or Okogie.

He won’t take 23.75 and are the Suns the third team?

Dallas is getting Dragic eliminating another team we could have traded Teague to.

Taj to NY as part of a S/T plus Covington to a 3rd team for raw cap (plus hopefully an asset) would give us enough to make a Dlo max work without giving up any further assets.

We dont know if he is willing to take it. Suns cant take Teague but Teague+Saric outgoing matches the 28M. Separate deals but can be done at the same time when the moratorium ends. Need to find a team with sheer capspace to absorve Teague.

Warriors or Rockets?

Losing Covington stinks for so many reasons. A left field reason is that we lost LaVine for Butler, then lost Butler and if we lose both Saric and Covington what was it all for? To break the playoff jinx and then move on? If Covington goes I would hope to see a pick coming back. Covington has great value to many teams in my opinion.

Can’t imagine he takes less than Max. If he does that’s a huge win but I wouldn’t count on it.

The idea of combining it with the Saric deal is super interesting though. If that’s legit that could work. Just need to find a squad who wants Teague and has the room to take him.

Maybe I'm wrong on that one, we have Taj's early brid, not bird rights.

I'll read up on the news one way or the other later it looks like. I'm cautiously excited about the aggressive nature of this front office.

I remember hearing the Pacers were interested in Rubio. With him going to the Suns do they have the need/cap for Teague?

No they signed Brogdon. That is why Rubio went to the Suns.

He might have to, if 28 teams want nothing to do with him.

Who are the wolves actually bidding against if not themselves?

lakers are waiting on kawhi.
Clippers nor Knicks have been linked to Dlo.

This is true. I wonder if this could be made into s four team trade, being intertwined with the Saric deal. Each team would have to “touch” each other, but Saric plus Teague would be enough.

Can we make something of Taj signing in NY? S&T for TPE or something to use on DLo?

karch34 also thought it maybe didn't make sense to sign Gibson after the 3yr Randle thing. Maybe this is all just one piece to the puzzle coming together. I thought I had read that Warriors were maybe interested in Taj at one point.

Horford signing after the Tobias Harris contract seemed weird too, maybe all of this is part of a bigger deal.

Trying to stay positive here. Admittedly patience is not a virtue I have. Guess I was hoping to start with a bang, but you didn't win marathon's by running them like a sprint.

You mean the supposed Wolves deal with OKC and Dallas? The actual Philly/Miami/Deal he was part of I think.

never mind. New Report.

Dragic still in Miami:

Shams Charania✔@ShamsCharania
Sources: Goran Dragic was not included as part of Miami/Dallas deal framework. He remains in Miami.
7:23 PM - Jun 30, 2019

Marc Stein✔@TheSteinLine
The Mavericks will acquire Kelly Olynyk and Derrick Jones from the Heat as part of the Jimmy Butler sign-and-trade, league sources say.
7:19 PM - Jun 30, 2019

Last I checked Olynyk is kind of a modern Center and if I recall correctly Jones was a ridiculous athlete with some potential.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
