Mitch will mature into a great defensive center in the mold of a Tyson Chandler or a Clint Capela. Putting ridiculous expectations on him like ‘Deandre is his floor’ doesn’t help anyone. Let the kid develop and be realistic.
There's nothing unrealistic about it. I don't hype any of our young guys, I see them for what they are.
But if you don't recognize how special Mitchell is and the motor he plays with, I don't know what to tell you. At least he's a guy you never have to worry about keeping in the 4th quarter since he's already a better FT shooter than DJ is.
I stand by my post, Robinson, barring any injuries, has the floor of Deandre Jordan. he was a double double machine the moment he was thrusted in the starting lineup, 2nd in bpg last season, clear cut leader in blocks per 36 minutes and 3rd in the league in orb per 36 as well. he's arguably the most athletic big in the league already and he has the best motor out of any center currently in the league.
Please refute any of my points, I look forward to your response.
Some of these guys need to go back and watch this kid. I'm mean he was doing things I have never seen 7 footer do and what was most impressive was who he was doing it against.
his timing and motor is not something you can teach.
Exactly. This kid is going to be a monster for a long, long time. I've been watching the NBA for a long time and I've never seen a player cover so much ground defensively. It's not like it was only a couple sequences all year, he was doing remarkable things defensively on a consistent basis and you could see his IQ developing as the year went on. Started staying out of foul trouble, his FT shooting improved and he learned how to be effective offensively even playing alongside the blackhole that is Emmanuel Mudiay.
That motor of his is something else. I think it's safe to say if teams knew back in the draft what we know now, he wouldn't have slipped past the 6th or 7th pick. I don't see how Mo Bamba is a better talent than Mitchell. He's already a dominant defensive player with elite level athleticism. Nothing hyperbolic about that at all.
