Yeah I don’t really understand the cap situation but it feels like every freaking team can sign 3 or 4 max players but we always have some crazy issues trying to figure out how to use the cap.

we had three this year.

Guessing Iggy headed to BK.

they cant afford to take salary back. It's a 3 way. Dlo will go to the warriors, the nets will get a late pick.

Some third team under the cap will take on iggy and some other dead cap from the warriors to get him.

forgot they could just make it swap for durant, but they still ahve to send iggy to a 3rd team, or green, for no salary in return.

This seems like an odd pairing?

Klay is big enough to play SF (when he's back playing at all), no?

Draymond is the Irving of the west. No thanks.

Not too sure on how it all works but how do we change it from 2020 to 2021 ?

So if it's a pick after 6 in next years draft, the Celtics will get it in. If it is a top 6 pick. then we will get it unprotected in 2021.

Ohh right. Will it still be top 6 in 2021 ?

Does this mean Kyrie and Durant can get the max, while Jordan gets paid and Kyrie isn't S&Ted in?

Danny needs to save his assets for Beal, towns, and possibly Draymond. It might not happen right now but one, both, or all are probably going to ask out by the end of next season.

All signing Kemba did was alleviate a disaster. It wasn’t some genius move.

Meanwhile the rest of our team got gutted and we are left hoping Jaylen Brown learns how to dribble and Tatum can figure out how to be a great scorer. Both fairly ridiculous expectations in just one off season.

Meh. I see it another way. I think it is very hard to win a title in this league, especially if you don't have a top 3 player. Ainge expertly managed a rebuild that positioned us for a possible kill shot this summer. While it didn't happen, he has also managed the fallback pretty expertly as well. We literally gave up next to nothing for Kyrie and Horford in the first place, and ended up with max cap room and Kemba for them leaving. That's almost witchcraft.

After 15 years of watching Ainge and this ownership group make excellent decisions, while proving over and over and over again that they are a top 3 front office by any rational standard, hard to see why the quality of their management is in doubt, but have at it, I guess.

After what has transpired the last 18 months I simply don’t have a lot of optimism about what the Celtics do.

Ainge won some trades and brought in free agents in Hayward and Horford but from a team chemistry point of view it was a disaster. Too many guys who need the ball in their hand. A point guard who was a terrible leader and a disaster for the young guys we drafted.

Surely a GM has to own that failure?

What part does he own? Not listening to the Magic 8 ball. Nobody saw this coming this year, not the players, not the fans, not the media. All of these guys were on the team the year before and everyone loved their chemistry and next man up mentality. What was Ainge supposed to do trade people away because he was afraid the team was too good?

The chemistry was bad or it went bad as Hayward and the Kids struggled out of the gate. I guess Ainge could have made trades but the one trade that he wanted to make he couldn't because of the conflict between Davis and Irving's contracts.

Ainge has turned Irving into Kemba. Right now it looks like he lost Horford for nothing and we need to see what he does there. But with the Rozier S&T it looks like he is in better shape tonight than he was last night.

The Wolves situation is hopeless in the West. Maybe they'll realize it and blow things up.

Whatever packages Danny had lined up to go after Davis, should also be available for Towns... if Minnesota will part with him.
