Smart move then. He 100%, for certain, definitely, no doubt about it, was playing center if he stayed.

as he ages, his ability to move laterally enough to play pf will get less and less.

Remember 2 years ago he was a 1 man Giannis stopper in the playoffs. This year, not so much.

learning from danny. Hoping some future pick is gold and a team falls apart. By 2024 klay and curry could be maxed out and over the hill.

I actually don't think so, but getting a free first for cap space you won't use is good.

By 2024 the Warriors will somehow find a way to have 8 max contracts on their team! :nonono: :nonono: :banghead:

I know, I know. That died with Butler going to Miami.

Would you give up either Smart or Brown for him?

This is funny that not even a Celtics beat writer knows what exception they have.

Because of last season, or was he unhappy before that?

Not going to go into the reasons, we just did wrong by him.

Basically gonna need Tatum and brown to make the jump Klay and curry made because otherwise theres no real depth here to get to that next step.

Were basically going with the 15th best big man at this rate.

He wasn't upset at management during the season at all. Everyone knew Kyrie started all this cancerous locker room crap, he was just more upset after our season ended.

We need a espn 30 for 30 on the 2019 Celtics sometime in the future

I understand you not going into details, but was it because of the contract situation, or something to do with Brad/locker room?

31to6 wrote:(all stats from last season only)

Willy Cauley-Stein
7'0" 240 7'3" wingspan, almost 26 years old
Total rebound % = 16, OBPM = -0.6, DBPM = 2.2, VORP = 2.3, WS/48 = 0.146

Noah Vonleh
6'9" 250 7'4" wingspan, almost 24 years old
TRB% = 16%, OBPM = -1.6, DBPM = 1.6, VORP = 0.9, WS/48 = 0.090

Vonleh shot 34% from 3; Cauley Stein has some decent passing ability (2.4apg)

Enes Kanter
6'11" 250 7'1" wingspan, 27yo
TRB% = 21%, OBPM = 1.5, DBPM = -0.2, VORP = 1.4, WS/48 = 0.159

Kevon Looney
6'9" 220 7'4" wingspan, 23yo
TRB% = 15%, OBPM = 1.9, DBPM = 1.8, VORP = 2.1, WS/48 = 0.194
.

Two are too short, two are too crazy.

Looney's only offense was an easy dunk when all the other Warriors were double/triple teamed.

Vonleh is nothing.

Kanter is terrible, brainless, no defense, trouble. Never passed a ball, ever.

WCS is a bust. Entered the NBA telling everyone he would be like Rodman, not even a William Bedford-level player.

If the Celtics had decided to tank, they would have a better roster with more ability and balance than their current one.

Russell vs Chamberlain, Bird vs Magic, Pierce vs Lebron, Tacko Fall vs Giannis Antetokounmpo, Robert Williams vs Joel Embiid.

Some of the NBA’s great individual matchups

Yup.

And lost two.

Let's keep perspective in reality a little here.

I will.

We kinda pulled the rug underneath him with the IT trade, lack of trades of the young guys to balance to roster, blames management for Kyrie not working, etc
