Re: NBA FA Signings / Available players
About what I expected Beverly to get. Good for him. Still some solid PG depth out there that should play out the next few days. My preference would be
1. Tomas Satoransky - Can back up PG and SG
2. Ish Smith - Always played well against us. Pistons seemed better when he was on the floor.
3. Tyus Jones- Could still be growing. More of PG than Dunn, better shooter. Restricted.
4. Quinn Cook - Played well in GS when given the chance. Restricted
5. Seth Curry - lights out shooter. Not much of a floor general.

Why not? We need a point guard, and even though he is on the decline, he would be a massive upgrade over Dunn.
White and Dragic back court would be sweet, and with both those players could play in the same backcourt together also, as they can switch to the shooting guard spot. It would make for a hell of a versatile backcourt.
He's 33, was injured last year and his shooting numbers across the board were down on fewer shots. I don't think he's very good anymore and he's definitely not part of any future with the team. I wouldn't give up anything of value for him, and ten million in cap space is some value.
Say we trade for him for Dunn and Val, we'd still have the minimum left to use wouldn't we? To say, possibly sign Boban and Tyson Chandler? That would make us a pretty well rounded team.
I'd rather roll with the three younger players (Dunn + Val + FA) then Dragic at this point. Now if they want to take back Felicio and give up a pick, I'll listen.

Young is a better player than Beverly and third big was just as big of a need as PG. Beverly is a well below average starting PG. I for one am happy the Bulls went BPA instead of forcing need.
3rd big was not the same need as starting PG.

Dragic talk seems like desperation. I can't excited about him at all. I'd rather keep Val.

No not if the 3rd fully Guaranteed
2021 plan is overrated and if we desperately wanted to clear the space we could always move him in his final year.

True. I bet that 3rd year for Beverly is fully guaranteed though. Might be the sticking point.

I strongly disagree. (White + Dunn) >>>>>> (Felicio + Gafford).

How is it true? We have much better PG talent than reserve big talent.

Right or wrong until we learn more it seems to be the difference if he truly did want to come home. Guess they must be high on White contributing early or we are screwed. Guess there is always a chance Dunn turns it around, but I have no expectations for him going forward.

We don't have a clear cut starter at PG even though the potential is higher. I hope White is ready.

KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

The one thing that gives me hope is DUnn is a worker. He comes back w a spot up 3 and he’s valuable defensively without being a drag on spacing offensively. Plus you’d have the closing ability he showed at times. That’s a Beverley starter kit. Fingers crossed, even if it’s low probability.

Wait. Did the Knicks just sign Julius Randle, Bobby Portis, Taj Gibson and Reggie Bullock?

Outside of Satoransky and Curry, there's really no one else worth signing right now IMO.

Re: NBA FA Signings / Available players
favorite thread titles from knicks board, last 24 hours:
'perry might be not good'
'with randle, barrett and mitch are we attractive enough for kawhi?'
'we may be lucky to not sign KD/kyrie, warriors/okc model done right'
'a defense of kevin knox'
and hilarious given the day's events...
'1999: looking back, did the knicks ever have a chance against the spurs?'
honorable mention: 'knicks sign bobby portis 2/$31'
