The overreaction to the Dlo news has been entertaining enough to help get me through the disappointment of the Dlo news.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Sick of these no cap teams. Ruining it for everyone. Oh hell well drop Durant and pick up a backup #2 overall PG to spell Steph freaking Curry. Why would they drop Iggy unless they had a plan for his replacement?
I can absolutely see the Warriors offering Russell to us for RoCo. However, that's RoCo at 11 million vs Russell at 28 Million. And they offer nothing to help us with the cap.
Sure they can take Dieng back, maybe even Teague. Money is no object there. If RoCo is who they want they can take on whoever and release.
So Roco/Teague/Dieng for Russell. I love RoCo , but I think I would do that. Close call.

How about I really get your hopes up and say we will take Wiggins back? We need a SF!

Maybe it ends up being Roco and Teague, for Dlo?

Yeah right. Except that without RoCo this team is garbage with only Dlo and Towns. Resting all bets on Culver and Okogie becoming gods.
Might as well resign Derrick Rose right now. Oh wups I suppose we didn't offer a QO so probably can't afford him now either.

I just had to wake to the update on the phone. Buzzz Buzz. Was hoping to wake up to some good news.
Can we sign some stiff now to use at the 4 so we don't break RoCo?

We've got the MLE so theoretically we can do that.

Ok, but I mean a real stiff so the MLE is too much. No point in signing a single other player to a multiyear anything until next year.
Revv up the tank. Stick wiggins on the hood. Use some chrome polish. Force him to cut his stupid knots off and knock out a 5 win season. I just don't want to see them overuse RoCo all over the court and break him during a wasted season.

You do it and dont think twice about it. Let's just hope it's in the plans...wolves might be able to provide valuable depth with Teague, RoCo or Dieng. Klay will be back by probably March.
Steph/Teague
Klay/Shaun
???/??
Dray/??
??/Dieng
Dlo/Tyus
Culver/Okogie
Wiggins/??
RoCo/FA
KAT/??
Worry about details later...DLO and Kat give you an all star attractive foundation. Should be 25/26 when wiggs is gone and able to really attract some talent.

It's amazing tbh.
We got beaten out by one of the greatest dynasties the league has ever seen and apparently our new POBO is an absolute chump because of it. We'd have struggled to compete with interest from the Dubs if we were even a half relevant franchise, let alone one that's largely been a joke for 30 years.
Personally, I'm encouraged by the fact that we're even putting ourselves into these discussions and trying to take risks and make big moves, rather than some of the ho-hum bull**** we've seen from this team over it's existence.
We tried something and we missed out, big deal, it's going to happen plenty more times. At least we were in the discussion rather than sitting in the corner like the red-headed step-child we normally are.

It would make sense for all the parts. Could even fit with the KAT history on Instagram (Loading... ). But is a very long shot.
Maybe teams were asking too much to take Teague knowing we were trying to get this done hard and low balled Rosas. The wolves didn't want to pay with Okogie or first round picks making more palatable to lose Roco. I don't know. Be wolves fan is hard.

The problem is there is a very good chance we lost out because we were very poorly prepared. It's fine if Russell was just evaluating all his options and went with the best one, but if we came without the cap space prearranged and Russell didn't want to wait then that is all on our ineptitude. We will probably never know. It's possible the price was simply too high to get it done, but if that was the case we were wasting our time, Russell's time and blowing a chance with the next FA we go for because he will remember this one.

Re: Lowe - Timberwolves Still Want D-Russell
I didn't want Russell at 28 million. Time will tell if I am right, but it's not a great sign for my opinion that the Warriors were willing to pay that price as well. I just didn't like the idea of the Wolves trying to make a foundation out of two players who are not plus defenders (we can argue whether KAT is average or below, but Dlo is flat out bad).
It would be fascinating to find out who the Wolves thought they could dump contracts on. My suspicion is that the Suns were willing to take Teague when it looked like Rubio was going to Indiana. When Indiana was able to get Brogdon, the Suns were able to get Rubio and that killed the Teague interest.

It's either, or some team low balled Rosas stepping up the price at last moment and Rosas rejected, or Dlo never was very committed with KAT and the wolves didn't want to lose Teague before have DLo commitment. Cap space can be costly and price drives up quickly.

I like the way you put that. Almost sold me. Almost.
Yet. Did anyone have any indication that Warriors would make a move on Dlo? No? You mean they didn't have to shout from the top of the hill so all could hear that they only player they wanted this FA was Dlo? They didn't have to send out fake news about having buyers willing to Pay up for one of their bad contracts to clear space?
The team could have said nothing to anyone besides the inner talks between the teams and player/agents. If it leaked out fine, if Dlo leaked it to drive up his deal competition, fine. But you don't need to use the public belief and stoke up your fans. Later also telling media that you are "canvasing" the league to field offers for any of your bad contracts to make space yet, three and four hours into FA. Wreaked of desperation. Maybe you could have already had these moves in place before anyone knew anything. Removed all doubt before you had to get loud about the move. Could have left it as "something Karl wanted or was hinting for."
The Wolves are very much like the Lakers were now in that they have made a number of their players question where they will play this season, certainly longterm. Makes them question their own value or their trust in their team. Just perfect. They are sure to be confident and ready come October.

I just woke up and kind of expected that Wiggins would be traded and we'd signed Russel.
Well. Reality is underwhelming. Especially for Wolves fans. Thanks Rosas for trying tho

Re: Lowe - Timberwolves Still Want D-Russell
So whats our plan С?
I'd try to re-sign Tyus at reasonable price, i.e. try to make his contract an asset. Make development a priority over this summer and wait for an opportunity to strike. I dont see other FAs who fit here in MIN and are worth trading. Other teams have money to spend, they try to acquire assests, or invest in wins.
D-Lo will get an opportunity to play a lot within GSW system with Curry, Green, before Klay will comeback healthy.
Brogdon-Dipo duo will make IND a very dangerous team.
I dont understand what PHI is trying to achieve. Two bigmen with non shooting Simmons and Harris at SF?

I think we dodged a bullet on this one. I give more credit to Atkinson for the Brooklyn playoff push.
