Is DMC too costly? I think he'd be worth the risk. Plus if we keep him at 25+ min a game it allows RW to develop.

How are all these teams offering max contracts to players when they already have 2 or 3 and we can't?

And we’d keep the full MLE and temporary Bird rights for Morris and Horford..

The Horford deal currently depends on the Butler deal getting done first, I guess, although it doesn’t have to..

If we sign and trade him at 25 million, there’s no BYC because he’s getting less money than he did last year - Butler will be 19 million outgoing/incoming for Philly, and Richardson 10 million, which is why Miami has to send out more players to a third team to match Butler’s incoming 32 million.. Horford would effectively be into cap space for the Sixers, I think - but I think we could take back the rest of the salary from Miami to facilitate a deal.

All of that would depend, though, on getting Kyrie and the Nets to play ball, even if they’re helping out two division rivals and two conference rivals..

That last bit is the really tricky part. Dead as of now. Dunno if there's any interest in reviving it since Nets seem to be done with all their transactions apart from minimum vet signings. Of course nothing is final until the 6th so you never know.

But Zarren and co. are probably operating as if that route is no longer available to us.

2021 1st would be good..

Memphis pick has lost a little bit of value..

Ja Morant/Jevon Carter
Grayson Allen/Korver/Brooks/Wright/Bradley
Kyle Anderson/Iguodala/CJ Miles/Caboclo/Parsons
Jaren Jackson Jr./Rabb/Crowder
Valanciunas/ 25 million TPE from Conley trade/future GSW 1st

One or two good trades of spare parts, a good MLE signing, and surprise chemistry and they could be outside the top 6..

You’d need to get Brooklyn a first-rounder or two, it’s feasible.. you could get one from Philly for cash, maybe from Miami for cash, maybe the MIL pick, a protected Charlotte pick, send the pick(s) in the Kyrie deal, then follow up with Horford and Richardson to PHI, Butler to MIA, Dragic/filler to BOS, or Winslow/Olynyk..

Easy-peesy. Hehe. We'll see what they can come up with next 6 days. But I've lowered my expectations after both KD and Kyrie took pay cuts. All pointing to Nets being uninterested in getting Kyrie via S&T.

Himmelsbach at the Globe said they agreed to the Rozier/Kemba swap to leave open three-team scenarios..

Not sure there’s a way to do Rozier to CHA, Kemba to BOS, Horford and Richardson to PHI, Butler to MIA..we wouldn’t be able to take back anyone else from Miami in that case..

Feeling like the old NBA is back, with Philly and the Lakers the big teams to be beat.

Meanwhile, what's this about? Certainly a price the C's could have afforded, but how can the Pels be needing him?

Celtics have neither the cap space to absorb Favors's salary nor enough salary to match without giving up Smart/Brown. At that point, it's just not worth it.

-- I'm not sure what Kemba's starting salary needs to be -- does anybody have that figure? -- but I imagine it's less than $35 million.
-- Horford's starting salary could probably be $26 million plus if Philly so chose.
-- The Hornets/Rozier rumor has half his salary being as much as $9 million.
-- Baynes is at $5.453 million.

So just with that we have $35ish million coming in and $40ish million going out. But with $40ish million going out we COULD have $50ish million coming in. So unless I'm missing something, there's plenty of opportunity to take in, for example, Olynyk's salary.

Of course, any such analysis ignores the issue of luxury tax repeater penalties.

Problem is with Miami end and the players they're willing/able to give out in the trade. They need about $26.1 outgoing to match Jimmy's $32.7 incoming salary. If Philly wants Richardson ($10.1) to be the player coming back to them, That leaves Dragic ($19.2), Anderson ($21.3), or Whiteside ($27.1) coming back. We don't need/want Dragic. Anderson and Whiteside's salaries are too big and really not that worth it to throw out more players for from our end. If we just ask for picks, they would have to find a 4th team to dump any of those three players on, which would require further compensation.
