Obviously there's no certainty and no 2 players are alike, but at age 34 Kobe came back in 9 months. Cousins is probably 100 pounds heavier than Durant (which makes it a harder rehab) and he came back in 12 months. He was doing drills in September (8 months) and I believe got cleared for practice in Oct/Nov. https://www.sfgate.com/warriors/article/DeMarcus-Cousins-could-begin-team-practice-with-13257826.php

Nobody knows how KD's rehab will go but I think the "out all of next year" talk right now is just to set expectations low. It wouldn't shock me if there are "KD starting to practice with the team" rumors in March/April (around 9-10 months).

good points man.

just need to be in wait and see mode this season. Don't rush him. I'm sure they gave him a full breakdown of their plan too.

I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HIM IN A NETS UNIFORM AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Yup, can confirm this is real life. Went to bed and woke up and it's all still real. I'm still in shock.

Btw 1 thing that occurred to me that never seems to be mentioned in the "will KD still be KD talk" - he was still KD in the finals playing on 1 leg when he re-injured himself in the first place.

Regardless of whatever the odds of him coming back 100%, they are still higher than finding someone that good through any other method in the next 4 years. I see no reason to not be optimistic that he can come back and still be better than just about everyone else who was a FA this year (except maybe Kawhi) and that this was definitely a risk well worth taking.

10% of KD is still a top 25 player

The floor spacing will be ungodly once he comes back. Hopefully we can keep Joe Harris in the fold.

Don't rush him at all.

We need him as close to 100% as possible because when he's back on the court our championship window is officially opened.

Worst case scenario he becomes Dirk-like and loses some athleticism but you can't teach 7ft and can't teach clutch.

For all the talk of the risk that is KD, and it is, we need to remember that Golden State was offering him the max of $221 million/5 years and I'm sure they know his medicals.

Knicks fans salty all over twitter and STILL going on about attendance and Durant and Kyrie not being "man enough".

LMFAOOOOOOOOO

Don't they realize it? It's not even pathetic anymore, it's downright sad and tragic they're so brainwashed.

My cousin (a pain management doctor) was arguing against Durant, saying he won't be the same. My counter was that he'll still be 7' tall with an unblockable shot & a sweet stroke. I then asked who would be better: Tobias Harris or post-injury Durant. He agreed Durant. Tobias is the benchmark in my opinion, since he was the next best feasible option. If you think post-injury KD can be better than Tobias, then it was a no brainer.

It also helps the brain to know that Tobias is paid more than KD now as well.

It's gotten to the point where Carmelo is getting high praise for being "man enough"

But man, I can't believe it, Kyrie and KD. Just unreal. After all of the BK era and Dwightmare, this feels incredible.

He really isn't. KD's bonus money will likely be paid out in most/all seasons.
