Anthony Davis needs to shut up. Talking about legacy. You decided to jump ship with a mega superstar in lebroni james.

Part of me feels there still might be a trade for a big as well. It’s hard to say at this point.

I'd take him for Vet min. Not any MLE/RLE type deal.

Not saying we are interested, but I do think it's weird that no one is talking about him.

He will end up on the Lakers to ride their coattails.

Because the “Wait for the buyout market” plan worked out so great last year...

Definitely like to see Semi get more minutes, but expecting him to fill major minutes at the 5 spot is probably too big an ask. Rolling him and Grant Williams out together in a small ball line up, though, would be interesting.

Celtics just need Tacko and Williams to be really good Tatum and Jaylen to take a big leap and Hayward to be 85%.

Had my hopes up on Favors and now this ffs

Looney.

Kanter is good in the post & on the boards but a defensive liability, and WCS is trash. He looks the part in terms of his size & athleticism, but no skill whatsoever.

Your not looking for an All Star at this point what you need is size, defense and rebounding. As someone who felt WCS was really overrated coming into the NBA and shortly after I feel he is being undervalued by people who had crazy expectations for him. He is capable of being a double double big man who can block shots and has very good assist to turnover numbers. In the end you are trying to replace Horford, WCS gives you a lot of what Horford gave you. He doesn't necessarily shoot the 3 and probably can't increase production for you in a big game but as a plug in guy from FA he makes sense.

Am I alone in wanting to pair Kemba and Smart in the backcourt and just have Brown come off the bench as the main second unit scorer? Would that be a problem with Jaylen in his contract year?

Yes it would be a problem and Jaylen is much better playing off of dribble penetration. So enjoy your loneliness.

I don't like that idea, for a couple reasons. I want Hayward to have the ball in his hands as a creator much more than he did last year; essentially he needs to play Al's role from the wing position. Adding Smart as a secondary playmaker will cause Hayward to stand in the corner a lot, like last year. Additionally, we really need a playmaker for the bench unit. Enter: Marcus Smart.

Kemba / Smart
Brown / Langford
Hayward / Ojeleye
Tatum / G Williams
*FA* / R Williams

Let's just have Hayward play center and throw out a line up of

Kemba
Smart
Brown
Tatum
Hayward

Your social media update for the day:

It appears Vincent Poirier is in Plano, Texas. Not that far away from Dallas. Poirier to Mavs confirmed?

You're not alone. I think Smart needs to start. With Horford gone we really need his defensive leadership.

I like it. You don't need defensive rebounding when your opponent is making every shot.

I mean, couldn't they sign that French center for the min and roll with Timelord/Theis/French guy? I guess it's possible..

We have to sign someone, anyone with that room exception if just for salary ballast later on alone.

This is my biggest issue with Danny. He doesn't appear to be concerned about the impact of a non-move.

Nobody thinks the players left are that desirable, but again that is bad planning AND not having a center is going to lead to losses and then in-fighting.

Danny may be okay with the team having a slow start, but the players, fans, and media will not. And that is part of what lead to the toxicity last year.

Losing on a team expected to win leads to increased pressure from fans and media which leads to people pointing fingers.

I just think Danny doesn't care enough about that. At least that's what his actions say to me.

I must be the only one mostly fine with starting Time Lord.

Hmm... Wow that's a smart use of S&T. Warriors expected to trade DLo?
The fit was weird so I was scratching my head when they traded for him.

If any franchise knows how to spin 6th men as big deals, it's the Celtics. And if any player is open to creatively spinning his job, it's Jaylen.
