Wouldn't be stunned to see Greg Monroe back later in camp.

Why though? You’d basically ruin JB’s future in Boston & his trade value. Smart is the perfect sixth man. He’ll take it from Lois this year.

Why is everyone referencing Tacko ******* Fall, who hasn’t played 1 NBA minute, when the Celtics have RW3 & Thies. PLEASE educate yourself! At least N1ce talked about TimeLord in this post along with Tacko ******* Fall.

You really need to start trustin' the Tacko.

I don't like that idea, for a couple reasons. I want Hayward to have the ball in his hands as a creator much more than he did last year; essentially he needs to play Al's role from the wing position. Adding Smart as a secondary playmaker will cause Hayward to stand in the corner a lot, like last year. Additionally, we really need a playmaker for the bench unit. Enter: Marcus Smart.

Kemba / Smart
Brown / Langford
Hayward / Ojeleye
Tatum / G Williams
*FA* / R Williams

I don't foresee a problem with too many playmakers among the starters. And I don't think we need a rigid bench unit.

That said, if I'm optimistic about Jaylen happily accepting a sixth man role, I'm wildly optimistic about Marcus doing so. So I'm OK either way.

The best thing for the team is for Hayward to embrace that 6th man role. He is the only player who can play 4 positions so he can essentially replace any of your starters and he is the only player that can reliably create offense for himself and others besides Kemba. I understand the challenges that come with accepting the role but players who can excel at it can be championship ingredients. I am talking about building your rotation around getting him 30+ mins per game letting Brown and Tatum start the game and not forcing them to carry the second unit offense.

Speaking of slow bigs who can't move that well defensively. I just watched Kanter's highlights from Portland's playoff run.

F.. it, lets do it. Far from perfect, but dude has a soft touch and more importantly, he gets rebounds. Don't even have to feed him that much in the post, he will get 6 points a game from put-backs. With all the switchy wings just use him as a drop big like Milwaukee does with Brook.

The way I'm understanding it, we can get whatever exception we want, probably, if we are willing to pay for it. There are a lot of teams with players moving around. Do we make our move to send out Kyrie, Rozier and Al and take in Walker in a way that helps some other team and possibly get a late pick for it, or do we possibly pay a late pick for some team to help us create a full MLE?

It comes down to if there is anyone willing to come here we want but only for the full MLE. DMC would fit that bill if there is mutual interest right? What about Kanter, is some team going to offer him a full MLE? I'm seeing paying a late pick to get DMC at the full MLE as a risk worth taking. We may need to trade Tatum and Brown in a future deal for a star to put us over the top, so winning as many games as possible will up their value.

Danny needs to try and take advantage of Miami's desperation and S&T Horford in a deal for Whiteside and a pick similar to what Golden State sent out with Iggy.

BOS gets Kemba, Whiteside, and 24 1st (protected 1-4), 2025 (protected 1), 2026 unprotected
CHA gets Rozier
MIA gets Butler
Philly gets Horford and Richardson

I don't know if that's legal or if it would cap Boston out or what... Maybe Danny can finagle a pick swap (MIA's 1st for MIL's 1st) next year, as well. Also, I don't love Whiteside but he would solve out biggest need and he is expiring so might as well take a chance.

Why can’t Williams start?

He might but he has played 283 minutes in the NBA so far so you could say he is a bit unproven.

Back the f off Tacko. Embiid is only 7'2. Tacko is 7'7", he must be better.

I'm hoping for a no-Monroe doctrine.

I am good with it as well but I assume he is good for about 24 minutes. Need another dude besides Theis that is somewhat effective.

While you surely jest, once upon a time Embiid had just as much "skill" as Tacko.

Clearly there's room for improvement, but the kid has the tools to do it.
