I think all the noise on Kanter before, and nothing since, and now we have news that we aren't sure what MLE/RLE we will have and working on it up till july 6, he must be the guy and we are just waiting to see what we can offer. He is waiting as well as he can get 5-9m from multiple teams, but would love to be here as he'd probably start a bunch of games. I mean, I'm ok with Timelord starting, but he is young and might be best as primary big off the bench with Tacko being emergency 6 fouls against Embiid type guy.

Wouldn't be stunned to see Greg Monroe back later in camp.

Speaking of slow bigs who can't move that well defensively. I just watched Kanter's highlights from Portland's playoff run.

F.. it, lets do it. Far from perfect, but dude has a soft touch and more importantly, he gets rebounds. Don't even have to feed him that much in the post, he will get 6 points a game from put-backs. With all the switchy wings just use him as a drop big like Milwaukee does with Brook.

I'm all for Kanter as Williams back up but dont think we get him for 4.7 mil.

I don't want it to happen either. But..stuff happens.

For everyone that wants Noel I want zero part of him in Boston. It has everything to do with his knucklehead friends in Everett.

Why is everyone referencing Tacko ******* Fall, who hasn’t played 1 NBA minute, when the Celtics have RW3 & Thies. PLEASE educate yourself! At least N1ce talked about TimeLord in this post along with Tacko ******* Fall.

Back the f off Tacko. Embiid is only 7'2. Tacko is 7'7", he must be better.

CHAMPIONSHIP!

While you surely jest, once upon a time Embiid had just as much "skill" as Tacko.

Clearly there's room for improvement, but the kid has the tools to do it.

Well, i'm jesting both ways. Tacko is my binky and I expect him to make it in the NBA. By make it though, I mean 5-10 mpg off the bench kind of like Boban. Situational player. Maybe not even for us. We will see.

I'm with you. A Boban-esque type of impact is plenty fine by me.

If we got in on the Horford/Butler trade between Philadelphia and Miami what assets would be available to us?

Tacko as a box and 1 zone guy on the baseline might work. Heck, cousins did it in the finals and he was moving so slow a guy in an electric wheel chair could beat him side to side.

Noel has good advanced stats. Why so little interest in him? Is he a lockerr room problem?

Yes. Has some issues. Can confirm that.

If you asked me to choose between him and Cousins, I'm taking Cousins all day.

I will never understand cap space. We lost Kyrie, Horford, Rozier, Baynes, most likely Morris. That’s going to be like $70 million or more off the books and we take back $35m in Kemba and we have $4.7 left to sign someone. Numbers don’t make sense.

And I don’t care to have it explained to me either. Something needs to change with how they make up their rules regarding cap space.

The most likely way at this point to get a good center is via trade.

It is annoying. Teams over the cap are signing peole left and right. No incentive to get under the cap. Maybe the cap hold should be market value as determined by the nba.

Which of the bigs left on the market can effectively set picks and get rebounds - oh and not get embarrassed defensively, that's what Ainge needs to acquire. Or else there has to be a trade in the works. Why bother with half measures in signing Kemba if you aren't going to provide him a big to set him screens and make him an effective pick and roll player. Richaun Holmes is a name that still has intrigue for me is he still available?

I told think any productive center like Kantar is coming here for only $4.7 million.

So you have a good agent who gets you a good long term deal making like 15m + a year, he declines, fires his agent, goes with Lebron as his agent (klutch sports) and ends up with back to back Vet min contracts on 1 year deals.

Klutch sports is the worst agency unless you are playing on a team with Lebron and he wants you to stay there. You can get overpaid then. Otherwise you are just losing money to feed Lebron talent. Like how AD waived 4m dollars he'll never get back so the lakers can have Max cap space.

I'm hoping for a no-Monroe doctrine.

Whew, made it to the end of the thread. Has there ever been a more complicated, confusing start to the free-agency period? Even the Celtics brass seems confused. :D
