If Kawhi doesn't sign the Lakers are going to have to go dumpster diving and bring in castoffs like Elf Payton, Kaminsky, Stan Johnson, and Tyreke Evans.

The buyout market might actually be where they bring in the best talent.

Maybe at that point they take someone like Teague in a trade? One year deal that won't require comp going back. But hard to find a match of teams willing to help the Lakers and have those kind of players they want to give away.

The Lakers can have Batum for free. He might actually try if he's playing with Lebron and AD.

I could also see the Cavs buying out Clarkson and/or Knight.

Well, no idea about Batum specifically, but I do think using their cap space in trades is something the Lakers would probably try to explore.

I think JaMychal Green would be a solid fit. Not pretty, but fills some holes/needs. WOuld have loved Favors or Thad Young, not sure why they weren't targets along, just like us not even thinking about Brogden or Iggy

I'd definitely like JaMychal Green + someone else over Danny Green on a big deal. I know he's a two-time champ but Danny's last 3 playoff runs aren't super encouraging stuff lol. And the Mavs are definitely not trending in the direction of the 2019 Raptors.

I dont see it, no teams gives a player and ext. and trades him right after and I dont see anything on Mia roster thats appealing to Was, no particular youth to build around that has "star" potential and picks way in the future as well since they still owe a pick to LAC.

They don't have many picks, can't see them risking having to dump a contract in an eventual pursuit of Giannis.

So we just committed roughly $30M annually for each of the next three years to Kleber, Powell and Seth. I'm alright with handing out some long-term money here & there and you can make a solid case for each deal in a vacuum but that's a lot of flexibility we're giving up for three guys who are all 27 or older. Gotta wonder how much upside there is?

Especially in the context of that all the 1st round picks we've traded. We basically need these guys to outproduce their deals to make sure we have assets. Hopefully it pans out. I remain very skeptical tbh. Feels like an overreaction to hand out THAT much money to role player-types.

Who is the third best player on our roster? I fail to be able to clearly identify that guy yet here we are paying all of Hardaway, Lee, Kleber, Powell, Seth and potentially Danny Green a lot of money for the next 3-4 seasons.
