I don't think Brad and Danny think like that. They loved Frank at the draft. I'm betting they still do. They'll look at his size and see how his shooting has improved and they'll say "We can get him to rebound enough" and "He'll be awesome at drawing the bigs out of the paint" Interior defense the way most people think of it has not been a major emphasis in the Brad Stevens era. Watch. You'll see. Get ready. This is my "hot take" of the summer. Frank Kaminski-- future Boston Celtic

You don't want to get in a "Hot Take Battle" with me. My takes are hotter than the center of the sun. I made SAS gasp. Skip Bayless told me I was out of bounds. Shannon Sharp lost his damn lisp!!!

Here is my Scorcher. Jaylen will sign the one year QO (ala Greg Monroe), at the end of next season and gain his UFA. I just have a feeling.

Not a huge Kanter guy, but he does bring what RWIII lacks and vice versa ... just hope both can stay healthy

Another excellent move by DA

Kanter provides something we haven't had in years but excited to see Williams play D and get burn

Would still make a trade for a legit PF that can defend.

I don't watch many non-Celtics games so my view of players is highly skewed by how they've played against us. Kanter always seemed to be a positive factor for the teams he played on when they faced us. I'm sure those questioning his D are correct, but it will be a breath of fresh air to have someone who can rebound and score in the post. His contract was a bargain, and he's clearly a placeholder for Williams or a big we trade for at some point. I like it.

Time for a few vet minimum deals.

Walker, Smart, Jaylen, Langford, Hayward, Ojeleye, Tatum, Yabu, GrantW, Kanter, RobW, probably Carsen Edwards is twelve players already.. Theis would be 13.. Best case, we can trade Yabusele, or cut him if there’s a better big at the vet min..

Paraphrasing from Mark Murphy's article:

KD and Kyrie to Brooklyn was a done deal months ago.
Horford's deal w/ Sixers done two weeks ago. He was never coming back.
Money among other factors was a reason he left. He also wanted to play his more preferred PF position.

Best-case we fold Brooklyn into the Kemba trade, use the other half of the MLE, and keep Morris..

I'm pretty optimistic right now about our team. Only leonard signing with the lakers can bring my mood down at this point.

Remember how Greg Monroe would get amazing position down low, or grab every offensive board, but then would throw a 95 mpg sinker towards the rim, often not even making it over it?

That's Kanter, except with fantastic touch. He can pass from the high post, and will grab every board. He sucks horrifically on D no doubt, but he will be a weapon for 20-25 minutes a game.

Myles Turner would be ideal, but I feel as if even if he's on the block, he'll cost too much and I don't know if it's justified.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

That’s not at all what happened. Kyrie and Al decided to leave as FA’s, and Ainge was able to secure an all-NBA point guard and signed a stopgap center with what little salary was at his disposal.

You clearly want to push the narrative that Ainge should’ve done something differently as you always do. I’d be interested in hearing from you what better options were available that Ainge turned down.

Am I excited about Kanter- No. but I’m not going to rip the GM after he salvaged what was pointing toward a total disaster of an offseason. I’m actually looking forward to watching this team this year. They won’t contend for a championship, but they could get there in a couple years if things break the right way. I am excited to see how brown and Tatum develop, Hayward’s improvement (if he can improve a little, he could be a big trade chip next offseason with one year remaining), and determine what we have in R Williams and to a lesser extent the rookies.
Totally this. I wonder which GM would be able to recover like this when his two best players decide to take their talents somewhere else.

The best part is now all the fans who were calling for Ainge to be fired before free agency even started will all learn their lessons and never doubt him again.

You're new here, but I'm not sure if this is sarcastic or not...

Would explain why Irving white flagged it at the first sign of resistance in the playoffs. He was ready to GTFO of town.

So if this was done months ago Danny really had his head in the sand and should have traded Kyrie at the deadline.
