Kei Igawa SUCKS!!!
Why did we sign this guy?!?!
I didn't catch much of spring training because it is...spring training. But there is nothing that I've seen or heard about this guy that is going to make me say, he's just having a bad game. I don't see anything special in this guy, and the worst part about it is we are stuck with him.
I guess this is the Yankees version of Kaz Matsui. And this may be even WORST!!!

Might as well say that Mussina, Pavano and Pettite suck too.
I was at Pettite's game, and he wasn't as bad. He didn't blow up, it was mostly defense.
Pavano didn't have a bad game AT ALL.
Didn't catch alot of Mussina, but his game wasn't all that bad,
Igawa hasn't had ANY control of the game since the start. How many batters did he start off with a ball, then compare him to those pitchers.

Pavano was ok. Pettitte had no control of anything, same with Mussina and same with Igawa. None of those guys are power pitchers really, and if their control is off it is over. The cold is making it hard to control. Let's see what happens in the dome in Minny. We will be ok. -Jitpal

I'm not worried about the season. I just didn't see ANYTHING that suggested the Igawa is going to be a player that can help us down the line. I guess you guys are right, it is only his first game, but there was NOTHING that hinted to me that its only his first game, but he DID prove to me that the bullpen is the only thing that matters when Igawa pitches..because was trash from the opening pitch.

When the only pitch you can throw is a fastball and it's constantly up in the zone and near the middle of the plate --- get used to 8 hits and 7 runs.
He didn't even really have any good spots like Pavano and Pettite did. If he doesn't find his changeup we're going to need to score 10 runs every time he pitches. I'm not calling for his head after just 5 innings but I don't see him being anything special at all. Hopefully he turns it around and becomes that back of the rotation guy he should be.

QFT.
Like I said, I'm not getting on him for giving up the runs, but the fact that he doesn't have ANYTHING that WOWS me, or tells me its only his first start. Nothing that we can say ok, give him some time. Thats all I'm going to say about him till he gets a little more starts.
