Re: Welcome Ricky Rubio
Hi! I´m a Rubio´s fan, but not a crazy fan. I know he has some limitations, shooting ( not regular, but be sure he will have some 25p games), finishing at the rim ( sometimes) and turnovers. And of course he has some strong skills, i won´t advance all of them, you will see or you already know them). But, If the coach let Ricky " free" more or less like his first years in Minnesota, you will have fun. And the best two skills of Ricky are:
- he always looks for the best situation to get the basket, not his basket
- He has a great heart, he fights until the end, even when is not his best game. He hates losing.
Good luck Suns
P.D: last two years i was reading a Utah Jazz Forum and it didn´t matter if Ricky was the best in the game, they always complained about him. I couldn´t understand. Let´s see what happen with them this year. Anyway, the few posts that i´ve read from you shows that you are more humble ( in the best sense) and realistic

We are used to being VERY VERY bad and also for the first time since like 87, having a VERY bad PG rotation for the last couple years...like G league level, so he will almost certainly feel like an all star to many of us. And many of us grew up watching KJ, Kidd and Nash, so we loved pass first PGs...even though there are not many left....so many will likely enjoy him. Also, many complained about Ayton who is a phenomenal finishing big did not get the ball enough last year, so it will be nice for someone to get the ball to him. I had read that Gobert had trouble catching Rubio's bounce passes...I don't think Ayton will as he has very good hands and hand/eye coordination.

The Rockets didn't even bother guarding him. They'd leave Rubio wide open. He had a solid 2 or 3 seconds to shoot at times with no one within 10 feet of him and some of his shots missed so badly that he didn't even hit the backboard (or any part of the basket).
Rubio can throw all the great passes he wants to Booker and Ayton, but it won't matter much when the PG guarding Rubio simply follows the pass, doubles Ayton/Booker and doesn't bother to recover if the ball goes back to Rubio since he can't shoot.
The crazy thing is shooting is the one basketball skill that requires no talent. It's all practice and muscle memory. Rubio would be an allstar if he was just an average shooter. You'd think he would have put the effort in to get better at it by now.

Don’t worry you won’t see Rubio in the playoffs anytime soon.

I suck when it comes to advanced stats and numbers in general would be a more proper english translation.MathiasPW wrote:This cracked me up. I don't even know what that means.El Hespiritu wrote: I'm a visual sensations guy.
We're pretty used to spanish RR haters and all sort of dead lanes.MathiasPW wrote:Welcome to all new posters, sure hope you stay around for the season, even moreso to support Rubio after we inevitably start to blame him for not being a top seed in the West and you hear the "if only we ha DLo" arguments start to pop up (we all know this will happen)
If those are the worst things we'll read about him here, we'll be perfectly good.

Whew, I was thinking that was Qwigglez looking for Suns fans in two years.

Sorry being late.
I got lost in some transfer. Apparently, there aren't possible Metro subway train trajects from Spain (Catalonia) to MIN to UTAH to PHO... let alone if you take a fake detour to IND.
But at the end, here I am, bandwagoning Arizona as if tomorrow never comes.
I'm happy to see some known faces here.

Re: Welcome Ricky Rubio
Gratitude for your kind feedback.
I dare to make all of you a requirement... we're asking for a new name.
We were The Brainless Minnesota TimberTrolls, then we were The Utroll Jazz Bandwagoners...
What should we be now?
Any idea?

The priority should be the nicknames for our players.
I still laugh with the "Federico" with whom you named Mbah a Moute

That Papi stuff isn't bad.Edward_Carnby wrote:The priority should be the nicknames for our players.
There has been some proposals for nicknaming players but let's wait wich ones get success.
I always named Frank Dancin' Kamy f.i., but Frank the Tank is more common.
Our primal priority by now is to name ourselves

Gratitude but that wouldn't work.Crives wrote:Suns fansEl Hespiritu wrote:we're asking for a new name.
As I understand it, Suns fans is not a free disposable name.
It's something that must be earned and we're not at that stage.

Hopefully, but this was said...
Ricky is surprisingly poor at throwing lobs in traffic.

Re: Welcome Ricky Rubio
Oh, I'm totally ready to do that on a daily basis... but let's be honest: at the moment, my whole eagerness depends on RR being in the team.Crives wrote:if your ready to cheer on a team that won 19 games last season your immediately one of us.
When I feel myself ready to cheer PHO with or without the GoldenBoy, then I'll deserve the Suns fan noble title.
Time will tell.
Some of my spanish collegues are yet adjusting to jet lag between Indiana and Phoenix, for instance.
