Let things develop. There might have been the opportunity to use the cap space to grab a future pick. Now, there is a roster overloaded with medicore players fighting for their NBA careers. Payton, Ellington and Portis were overkill. I would be fine with Randle and Bullock and cap flexibility.
Mills needs to go.
if frank has grown to 6'7~6'8. isn't he better fit as a scottie pippen type? Defensive wing that can be a secondary initiator of the offense? This means IMHO that the knicks see how big frank is and turn him into a livingston/iggy/brianshaw/pippen type. A versitile defensive wing that can initiate the offense.
Portis I have no problem with, neither with ellington he is just a solid vet at the end of his career. good locker room guy from what i see. Vet leadership.
I'll be blunt. While I think Frank is a solid defender, I don't see anything remotely close to an elite defender. The same reason why he doesn't seem to impact the offensive end rolls into his defensive game. He just isn't the most aggressive or intense personality. And to me to be truly top tier defensively you need to be able to be a junkyard dog. And that's just not his personality. If he could shoot then that would be fine, but he's really just a tall solid (not spectacular) one dimensional defender. Hard to really get him lots of minutes in this system and in today's game.
