Like this pickup, mentioned him a few times recently.
Solid insurance policy for Reggie n Rose's health.

Re: Pistons Sign Tim Frazier
Since the report specificallly says "$2 million" that leads me to believe Frazier was signed via the remaining MLE after Rose's allotment. Usually when somebody signs a minimum deal, its reported as ____ signed with ____ for the "league minimum."
If that's correct, all Detroit has left is their BAE and vet minimums to fill out the frontcourt.

Re: Pistons Sign Tim Frazier
2M is likely the rest of the MLE. He's a solid 3rd point guard option given he'll be back-up 20+ games due to Rose "load maintenance" days off or injury.

Like this move a lot. As far as third string point guards go, we could and recently have, done a helluva lot worse. Plus, maybe we just inch a bit closer to being done with Reggie.

I know of him. But I’ve literally never seen him play. Can he play?

Re: Pistons Sign Tim Frazier
If Dudley and McGee are signed as it is planned the roster is completed:
Reggie-Rose-Frazier-Boone
Kennard-Brown-Thomas-Galloway
Snell-Mykha
Griffin-Sekou-Dudley-King
Drummond-McGee-Maker
No spot for Sirvydis

I know it's like being the tallest midget, but Frazier has to be one of the best 3rd string PGs out there. He can run an up tempo offense, he's a good rebounder for his size. His shooting has held him back from being anything more than a 3rd string PG, but he's actually improved there the last couple years. He's an average defender, but if you're down to your 3rd string PG, you'd rather have him facilitating your offense than worrying about defense.
He's got a triple double to his credit and also has a 53 minute game on his resume.

Nice under the radar signing...i remember him being fantasy worthy when Jrue Holiday was out.
My hope is that Reggie gets dealt for a ham sandwich, and we roll with Frazier as our backup and Bone as 3rd PG.

Far more likely Bone spends the year in the D-League.

Frazier nor Bones are good enough for meaningful minutes on an nba team. Those saying Frazier is an upgrade over Calderon are mistaken. He shoots better, but he's not a better player. They're both 3rd string end-of-bench players. Bones is on a 2-way deal, which should tell you he won't be in the league anytime soon.
Having said all of that, I still agree with you. Reggie for a ham sandwich would be ok.

I would rather us get a big with that money (McGee and Tolliver), but we could've done worse than Frazier. He can play.

Re: Pistons Sign Tim Frazier
Doesn't move the needle but we need to fill in the roster.
As much as Reggie is overpaid and will never get back to what he was before he was injured, he is still a contributor. He is an expiring contract so we should be able to get something back for him at the trade deadline. He also seemed to show up for our playoff games although it was sort of overlooked since we were getting abused by the Bucks.

Re: Pistons Sign Tim Frazier
Teague will be a 19M expiring PG, Dragic a 19M expiring PG. All of those NYK signings outside Randle are signed to be expiring trade assets at the deadline.
