Didn't we just run through the top two teams out West without KD? Didn't we almost pull out the Championship till Klay went down? We have 4 all-stars, since when is a team with 4 all-stars ever not a contender? Teams don't even post up anymore. Are you telling me any of these teams want to get into a shootout with us? Richard Jefferson was the only guy I heard say you just have to plug a roster spot or two.

If the Lakers get Kawhi, which sounds like it is leaning that way, then yes our run is all but over. Three of the top five or six guys in the league on one team is unheard of.

With Looney back, Bell, Napier + Graham headed to Minnesota we now stand at:

Curry
Russell
Klay :(
Draymond
Looney

McKinnie
Poole
Evans
Smailagic
Jones

Livingston ???

I wonder if Napier being shipped out opens an avenue for Cook to return, but I do imagine he could find a little bit beyond the minimum out there. I've been adamant that I expect Damion Lee to return, we'll see if that happens.

ESPN's Bobby Marks has the Warriors with $430k of space when accounting for Looney and the 3 rookies' contracts, but not for Livingston. If Livingston is dumped, the Warriors will have $8.1 million to play with and five roster spots to fill. I assume we fill 4 and ride two ways the rest of the way.

They need a center. Looney and Jones are not enough.

I think Looney should be starting and/or getting 25-30 minutes a game, but I think Kerr is reluctant to expose Looney to so much wear and tear throughout the season. I will lose it if Jones is starting but ultimately expect that will be the case and that Looney will be our sixth man next year. This means that we likely have an incoming bench C at the minimum. Given what we know about how Kerr likes to play, my money is on Greg Monroe. In a vacuum I'd be fine with him occupying a Zaza/West role off the bench -- albeit with way worse defense -- but I'm not particularly fond of the idea of Kerr having another low post hub to use to put Steph and Russell off ball. I'd prefer Tyler Zeller as a big body minutes eater as he can shoot the three and specifically because Kerr wouldn't like his skillset enough to make him into a low post hub, but I think Monroe cometh.

Are rookies required to be signed in order to play in summer league? I thought that was true at one time, but I honestly don't know.

That said, I don't know whether any of the drafted Warriors rookies are signed.

Just listened to The Ringer NBA podcast.

Kevin O'Connor said what is there was a mystery team who was also in the Kawhi sweepstakes and what if that team was the Warriors?

They could do some quadruple sign and trade.

Highly unlikely, since Kawhi seems set on being in LA. And he may be a ring-chaser if he joins the Lakers.

But O'Connor noted how Warriors targeted KD for years before they got him and then had been talking up going after AD.

His point was the team always aimed high, though of course they have very little cap flexibility.

As the free agency days goes on, do we edge closer and closer to having a chance at re-signing Demarcus Cousins? If no team wants him, would he sign a vet min with us? He be a spot starter for us, ad certainly get enough minutes to showcase himself for a bigger deal the next season, if he can remain healthy?

His agent might be telling him Europe or something though, if no team offers him a contract.

Kawhi cannot be acquired by the Warriors in a S&T unless Draymond and DLo are headed elsewhere.

Kawhi is worth it and Dray + DLo would net some assets in return.
I don't think this is ever happening, but it would worth it in my opinion. Kawhi is that good.

Steph/Evans/Bowman
Klay/DLo/Poole
McKinnie/Robinson III
Draymond/Smailagic/Paschall
Looney/WCS

Still up in the air: Lee, Jones

Am I missing anyone? Young fellas gonna have to step up quick!

Just saw that. To a 2 year deal, apparently. Not bad all things considered. The WCS signing (and Looney discount) is a rabbit out of the hat. Incredible what this FO has done so far with literally no wiggle room
