I think that we're probably better off Starting Brown.
Smart has no problem coming off the Bench.
With Al gone, I think they really need Hayward starting. He may also need it for confidence, but he also could well be one of the team's top two players next season, and benching him for Brown's ego and avarice would be unfortunate overcompensation for last season.
Oh yeah, definitely Hayward needs to Start.
The only thing that I'm concerned about is Tatum at the 4.
Kemba - Brown - Hayward - Tatum - Kanter
If we have to bring in another 4, then Tatum and Hayward move down, and Brown comes off the Bench.
