I think the point you're missing here is that this isn't a zero-sum game. Nike will actively work against the NB brand gaining momentum in their most visible market (LA with Lebron and AD).

Population of Canada is about 37 Mil
If merchandise can be sold to 20% of canada then thats 7.4 Mil. Raptors will become a bigger brand internationally when Kawhi re-signs. China, Japan and all the countries that hate the US will be supporting the lone Canadian team. There was a big demand for Kawhi stuff in Asia but NB did not have enough stock. The only thing stopping NB from doing really well is themselves. They have had poor execution in terms of product launch, product availability and global branding. The potential is definitely there.

16 Million LA customer not everyone will be taking Kawhi gear. I would assume he can only capture at max 10% of that market.

So tell me how Kawhi staying in LA is better for NB?
