Re: Kawhi Leonard?
Take it for whats its worth, but ive heard the Clippers have a legit shot here. Lakers lead.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

Worst part is, I think the Clippers actually like Kawhi, the person and the player (so do the Raptors). In an upcoming offseason where Durant was available, we made our intentions pretty clear that we are interested in Kawhi.
A team like the Lakers doesn't GAF. They just want to add any superstar to their roster.
But here they are....with a chance.
I really do not get why he is acting this way. He had most the year to think about it plus the last couple of weeks. Its a big decision. I get that but its not like its out of the blue and he had 10 minutes to make a decision. Hope the Clippers have a plan B and C just in case.
Formal free agency period just started. Yes players often make decisions beforehand and then announce right at start of free agency, but if you're going to do meetings with multiple teams it's not going to happen as fast. According to some reports, Kawhi is still genuinely considering TOR, LAC, and LAL, if so each team offers a unique proposition so I'm not surprised its taking him a little longer- he's apparently just meeting with Toronto today.
I guess he could have set up meetings for Sunday night or Monday morning, but we'll all find out soon enough anyway I think. I think the delay hurts the Lakers the most because other top tier FA's are gone, whereas I don't think the Clippers were really targeting any besides maybe KD. I'm not holding my breath at this point, but who knows.
I think a Gallo trade may possibly come regardless of Kawhi's decision, but if so it will be because a good trade opportunity arises (there is a team that could really use Gallo for a playoff push, not just someone we pay to absorb his salary.)

This is crazy. I'm kind of glad the Clippers' meeting didn't become a big media frenzy like this.

We deserve better tbh.
I'm not feeling the energy here.
We are better than the Lakers. We have a better organization than them. We ARE the better choice and we're here in limbo and comfortable being here in limbo.
There shouldn't be a doubt.
He needs better and more professional representation.
He also may be looking to be courted since he went to SDSU. Maybe he wanted to be courted by the Dukes of the world....but as "weird"/ "different" as he says he is, I cannot imagine he wanted this spotlight on him. In fact, he always seemed like to the type to make a decision to avoid something like this.
Ahhhh....as we are all learning.
We don't know this man. Nobody does.

I honestly don't think he's making anyone wait on purpose. He planned to meet with each 3 team on certain days/dates. He's just following his schedule, I understand it hurts each team, since they can't sign other players. Kawhi probably wasn't sure where he wanted to go, and truly wants to give each franchise a chance to make their pitch. The wait game obviously hurts both L.A teams since Toronto won't be adding anyone significant.

Kawhi was the only one who played by the league rules about the dates, the only one who told the truth during the playoffs about not having made up his mind [looking at you, KD], and now he's the villain. Like Galloisdaman says, it's silly season.
Kawhi's played it completely straight. It's everybody else who didn't.

Re: Kawhi Leonard?
He must be worried about perceptions. He obviously doesn't want to stay in Toronto but to leave them after a championship and then to join two other top 5 players would be really weak.
All the narratives about KD joining a 73-win Warriors team would pale in comparison.
How do you leave a championship team just to join two other superstars? Talk about wanting the easy route to the Finals.
So that's why he's giving the Raptors one last meeting, just for appearances sake. But those fans waiting on him outside the hotel, his bodyguards better keep them away from him.

He's not Woj or Shams, so take it with a grain of salt, but at least it's not the Lakers if true.

Re: Kawhi Leonard?
I'd be disappointed, but at least I could totally understand him staying in Toronto since they just won a ring.
Lakers would make me mad though.

I honestly wouldn't even be disappointed. As long as it's not the Lakers, I'm good with whatever. If Kawhi chooses Toronto, we can still make moves like bringing in Morris, bringing back Green, signing Cousins, etc., have a good chance to make noise and not become totally irrelevant.

Woj was supposed to be on ESPN 10 minutes ago. This HAS to be the Kawhi news holding him up, right?

If Raps sign him I will be respectful to this forum. But Lakers forum will be getting an earful with all their bs reports and fans who think their superior.
