Looks like we missed out on Kyle O'Quinn, Sixers got him for the minimum.

he would have been 3rd string here.... and on the plus side, he didnt go to boston, whose PF/C situation is still abysmal

Would've like Dudley back but looks like he really wanted to add playing for LA to his resume.

I'll miss Dudley. He was always a steady hand when the boat got shaky.
Good luck to him in LA. I'll be rooting for him.

So what are we thinking here for a big man option?
Which two players would you guys like? It looks like we need a vet 4/5 and a vet swingman or have a ready to go Eurostash and one vet.

JaMychel Gzreen would be perfect but I think he's looking for the money. Pau Gasol, Dragon Bender, Amir Johnson, Noah are a few names I still see.

With us getting Chandler as another body to play stretch 4, I would really like to find and sign a guy who can really...really...REALLY shoot.
With Crabbe gone, Joe is the only one left who can take those off screen pull up threes we like to run.
If something was to happen to him *loud knock bang on wood* we really lose a lot of consistent shooting.
A young guy who has failed to live up to expectations, a Mclemore for example, might be worth looking into

Jodie Meeks is still out there but we have a bunch of guards already. Might have to get a guy from the d league. I rather a stretch 5 at this point.

Stretch 5 would be nice too, unless Kenny adjusts. We have gone with Dudley or even Rondae at the 5 when we really wanted to go small.Papi_swav wrote:SpeedyG wrote:With us getting Chandler as another body to play stretch 4, I would really like to find and sign a guy who can really...really...REALLY shoot.

I don't know that we have that guy now when he decides to go really small

I think we need one more big body at the veteran's minimum for 3rd string center.

Agreed. We can live with Claxton as the 3rd string if we don't land someone though.
Sure he'll get bullied at times but unless it's a long term injury to one of the 2 ahead of him he can probably handle it for a week or 2 if need be.
I do want to see him get some time up here this year along with Musa too. I really have high hopes for both.

Re: Official 2019 Brooklyn Nets Offseason Thread
Jarrett Allen and Rodi are on the SL roster. I'm not sure why, its junk basketball.
More encouraging news is that from what I read on the Nets subreddit, JA is now in the 240s range weight wise and should be around 250 come October. He's been putting in serious time on the weights.

I think JA will be like LeVert last SL, where he was on the roster but barely played. He's probably their for chemistry and reps in practice with coaches.
Rodi will probably play a lot more tho.

I think Jarrett was on the team last year and just practiced with the squad. I think it'll be the same for both. No reason for them to play.

Re: Official 2019 Brooklyn Nets Offseason Thread
Stephen A. Smith reported that Kevin Durant didn't have a very good working relationship with Steve Kerr.
"KD knew he would never be Steph Curry in Golden State," said Smith. "One of the other things that hasn't been talked about is Kevin Durant didn't have the greatest relationship with Steve Kerr. He wasn't too fond of Steve Kerr at all. I don't know the particulars, but I do know that."
After Smith's comments were aired, he received a text from Durant himself disputing it.
"Kevin Durant reached out said it's B.S. what I'm saying, you know, I should check my sources. That's all he said. He did not elaborate."
Smith said he spoke with more than two sources about Durant's situation and stands behind his statements.
"Multiple people are lying on you, KD, if that's B.S."
Hm...I think KD needs to start ignoring this stuff man. There's people probably connected with Golden State that are trying to throw shade at him and muddying the waters.
He's sensitive to how he's perceived, which I really don't have a problem with it, but at the end of the day none of this stuff matters. He's no longer in a toxic environment anymore, the Nets aren't going to treat him like dirt or allow for players to verbally or physically threaten him like what went on in Golden State. Let that **** go.

I hope so because there is really no reason for Allen to play, he's already a starting center in the NBA.
Geez Allen at 250? I would love to see how he looks, he has barely any fat on him so you know he will look beastly with muscles popping out pause.
