Edit: Disregard this. Took a look at his numbers and they were not what I thought they were, for some reason I thought they looked better.
I never thought about him but I would 100% be down he's probably better than CoJo.

I was just thinking, who of the big names are left to sign, because there was talk Kawhi wanted someone to come with him to LAC. Now there is no one else so the Lakers it is. Hopefully it's the Clippers though.

Re: NBA Free Agency / Trade Thread
This Joseph signing was a good way to finish rounding out what will be the core this season.
What hasn't been discussed much, and what a lot of non Kings fans don't seem to realize is the amount of times this team gave up big leads.
Now I'm not saying it's not going to happen at all next season especially with the scoring in current NBA, but with these vets its going to make it much tougher on the opposition to come back.
Look to that important stretch in February after going 5-1 at home, we went 3-8 in admittedly a tough string of games. In 5 of the losses the Kings gave up double digit leads.
I'm not sure how many times we did it last season, but it was a lot. To the people that think we haven't improved much, this small facet of the game, where Walton will be able to send the vets out there to calm things down and get games back on our terms.
Hopefully the young guys have learned a little about holding big leads too, but it will be helpful to say the least.

Possible that they don't bring in Joseph or bring Koufos back... I think that would be prudent at this point since Sac could still make a significant trade because of their available cap space. But if they did bring in Joseph and bring back Koufos - I would be fine with that... just mulling over your post.
Warriors trade of Iguodala would have been the perfect use for example.
On another note: Joseph in... and that would be that for the off-season. Damn, Vlade got that done quickly.

I had to suffer watching him in DC - just say no, shake your head and move on

It wouldn't shock me at all to see Bjelica get pushed out of the rotation at some point or at least reduced to spot minutes. Smart teams hunted him last year and he just isn't quick enough to guard a lot of guys.
I'd like to bring Brewer back so we do have the option to cut Bjelica out of the rotation if we end up wanting to go that route.
Could be but I am hoping not... I think that we will be much better able to hide his deficiencies with Dedmon and second year Bagley. And we need a solid 4 person FC rotation as we wait for the inevitable small injuries.
If you are thinking he is going to be a 15min/game guy, right there with you. And hope that Giles can really step-up and earn his minutes next year. The growth of Bagley and Giles are going to be pretty key.

From Hoopshype:
One more note on the Kings landing Cory Joseph… The third year of his deal with Sacramento is partially guaranteed, per league source.

Ya as soon as I saw iggy on the block i wanted him. We could have had a huge bench, and iggy/bogdan could have been the playmakers.
Disappointed we didnt get in on that. Woulda been fine even with lotto protections

Also, Luke Walton himself is a much better defensive coach than Joerger was. Gotta give credit where credit is due, Joerger did do a good job with the development of our young guys but our defense was always around the bottom of the league. Walton has consistently had his teams in the top half of the league when it comes to defense. Adding some defensive pieces to the roster makes me excited for our potential this year.

Re: NBA Free Agency / Trade Thread
Our cap situation looks pretty manageable with this group. If you assume Bogdan gets 4/70 next season; Buddy gets 5/170 (20% of cap instead of a 25% max) in 21; Fox gets a 5/181 max in 22; and Bagley gets a 5/190 max in 23, then you're looking at breaking into the $130M range while these contracts we just signed are still on the books.
The dangerous part becomes (under all of those assumptions) 2023/24 when Barnes comes off the books and there is $120M committed to Fox/Bagley/Hield/Bogdan (although the cap is projected to be $137M at that time). But that is light years away by NBA standards and anything could happen between then and now.
Assuming we resign our guys, we should have this core together for at least 3 years. I'm really excited to see what we can do.

The Iggy deal would not have worked for us. There is a 100% likelihood that he is bought out and returns to GS or another contender. He would not have been here to help and we don’t need to do the asset acquisition move that way like Memphis does.

Hopefully it is okay to respectfully disagree. I think Iguodala would have worked out terrifically for the Kings for this season. He would only want to be bought out toward the end of the season if the team he was with wouldn't be making the playoffs. He is better than Barnes or Ariza at this point. And the contract expiring next year would be perfect.
The draft pick would have been another fine asset to build on - probably as the Warriors start to sink a bit.
Additionally, if a team did want Iguodala and was willing to give up a first or multiple seconds for him - then no problem. Win/Win.
Either way, this would have been a terrific deal for the Kings.
Just another way to look at it...
Don't get me wrong though - this was an A+ off-season!

FWIW Iggy could not have been bought out by us then resign with Golden State.

Decision to keep or waive Yogi has to be made on the 4th, or today.
