This frees up a roster spot for us.

Kudos to Trav getting this done.

There was an earlier rumor that hawks were looking to do a 2 for 1 expiring contract swap to free up a roster spot.

They could gave easily cut either to create the roster spot but my guess is they want to keep the expiring contract 'alive' since once you cut a player you can't do anything with the salary.

Good move, hope we are able to buyout Chandler.

The Hawks are building around young players, but are open to giving Parsons an opportunity to earn a role in his final year under contract. If another team shows interest in signing him, a contract buyout always remains a possibility.

Believe it or not, Parsons has never been a bad locker room guy... I know fans hate him,but it seems he has extreme good interpersonal skills with players, kinda like everybody’s friend... he was the ultimate glue guy when he was in Rockets and Mavs... coaches really liked him, he was like McHales son, Rick Carlisle praises him nonstop... even JB was pleading for him to play against their FO last seAson... he would be super agent after his playing career is over
Hi Clutchie, I love you... :kiss

I wish him the best but he lacks the work ethic that it takes to be relevant going forward. I hope something and changed and im wrong.

It seems like the Hawks didn't want to buy out their expirings, but wanted to free up a roster space, so they traded two expirings they didn't need for one. Makes me think the Hawks are not looking to buy him out, but perhaps looking to be able to trade for a large contract in the future? Not sure they have a specific target in mind.

As was mentioned before, hope the extra roster spot is used on a young big. Bender works for me, or Khem Birch? Not sure who else would work.

Schlenk wanted a roter spot. he got rid of two players he didn't want for one player that he doesn't want, picked up a little spare change and has more plans

Khem Birch is awesome. I’d consider jumping ship to your team if you signed him haha

Opens up a roster spot, I don't see this as anything other than that. Three very toxic assets exchanged (because of their salaries).

8-)

Someone said, Hawks GM traded two players he didn't want for one player he didn't want. Who said that Atlanta didn't want him? Sure, he has that gigantic, expiring contract but, at one time, someone thought he was worth it.

Atlanta GM is still working out that Dwight Howard deal. Remember him as a Hawk? Traded him for Plumlee and now traded Plumlee for Chandler Parsons! Ain't it funny how long that deal has lasted !!

Hawks got some cap space $$$$ and another slot for another player. CP should get #13 for his jersey! Hawks may keep him, buy him out or trade him. If he stays, and I believe he will, at least for now, I'm hoping he does well...

:D
