Again, we need results this upcoming season. I'm willing to wait it out, if we're trending in the right direction. No more more tanking. We need to start building a winning culture in spite of Dolan.

What would you do if RJ is a bust?

I already mentioned in some of my previous posts that I didn't want KD after he suffered his injury. I also think Kyrie is a ticking time bomb. I just think it's ironic how we put down their fan base and lack of fans and media attention, when our franchise has been a laughing stock for the past 18 years(minus the season we won 54 games). All that stuff is pretty trivial.

Their situation is far from perfect, but it's a lot better than ours. This team needs to show signs of improvement this season. No more tanking, we need to be trending upwards. Until I see that, I'm going to continue being skeptical of management.

We're more then likely gonna have to show some patience for a good part of the beginning of the season cause when you put that many new parts on a team it's gonna take them time to not only learn whatever it is Fiz is gonna run for a system but it's also gonna take everyone time to learn how to play with each other (no homo) and then it's also gonna take Fiz time to figure out his rotations so i know this probably won't happen but NY fans will have to show patience.

boy whichever teams Kawhi doesn't go to are gonna be a little SOL on free agency

basically Cousins and Danny Green waiting for a call

I really hope he stays in Tor and leaves the lakers screwed
Clips would be fine too, just less fine

well I have bad news for you

we've already spent the cap space

I guess we could go back on our agreements to sign players to certain amounts but we currently have 4 mil in space available and I believe Kawhi will get a larger contract than that

What y’all are going to enjoy most about Randle is his coast to coast ability- the ability to grab a board and single handedly go cross court for a transition layup.

Sign and Trade with Toronto possibly ? I know this is a desperate Reach but that could make it possible right ?
Knicks could move assets to make space and acquire veterans players. I know this is all a dream but still possible

patience is the key regardless

we've had a few seasons where we came out of the gate hot and then came back to earth

I think this team will actually play pretty well together. we have very few crap players in the Mudiay mold. very few people with 1 year contracts, as in player controlled 1 year deals.

I expect to actually see some solid basketball
not unlike the nets played last year or boston when their stars were out

Listening to Woj pod with Jared Dudley talking up the Nets.
He mentioned talking to DeAndre Jordan a week before they committed and selling him on the Nets.
He said DeAndre responded: “what about the Knicks” and his answer was “Kevin is out, you guys are going to be bad”.
Probably reading too much into this, but sounds like a week before Knicks were still being discussed/considered. Maybe if we had another FA/trade commitment it would have made a difference

What can you do really? One thing you can't keep doing is promoting a losing culture and expecting a savior through the draft.

Keep in mind Curry was picked 7th, Kawhi was 15th, Clay Thompson was 11th, Giannis was 15th, M. Gasol and Green were selected in the second round, etc.

You do not need to keep tanking in order to get gems. You just need to draft right and get a little lucky in the process. So even if we win only 30 something games this year, it would be a step in the right direction, and you could still acquire talent through the draft. But stop tanking for top picks. No one is going to want to come here if we keep losing year after year.

If RJ is a bust, then that would prove tanking isn’t worth it. He was the 3rd pick. Not the 13th.

No it would prove that even high picks can be busts but your chances of getting a superstar is much higher at the top of the draft then anywhere else.

The luck part is that you need to get lucky in the lotto the rare years a franchise player is available

Another missed opportunity

Josh Jackson, DeAndre Melton and 2nd rounder going to Memphis for Kyle Korver and Jev Carter.

Kyle Korver has about 3mil guaranteed, so this is essentially a salary dump.

Take a shot on Jackson, Melton and a second rounder!

Who cares at this point. **** KD, **** Kyrie, **** DeAndre, and **** the Nets. Let's just worry about the Knicks getting right. We need our young guys to develop so we can have an actual core for this team.
