yes they would the media would have eviscerated us for doing this

then the same people mad that we didn't waste time on the kawhi pipe dream would probably start calling out the team for wasting the summer on a lottery ticket instead of signing realistic targets

they can't win no matter what they do

Na, let’s wait to see this backlash starting tomorrow. Shyts gunna hit the fan.

Can’t stress enough that passing on a superstar meeting for bums is far worse than passing on bums for a meeting with a superstar.

you can't complain about not waiting for kawhi, complain about not making deals for picks, complain that the knicks lost the top free agents to the nets because they were more competitive, and then complain that the knicks are now trying to compete. all those things are at odds with each other. you can complain about 1 of those things only. that's how this works. if you're complain about more than 1 you're being intellectually dishonest.

Jesus. I knew you’d say that he wouldn’t come to a rebuilding team so I covered that by saying we have the means to improve the roster via trades... yet you either didn’t pick up on that or blatantly ignored it. Conveniently.

Nobody would get on us for waiting to convince the best player in the league and missing out on role players the way they would/should get on us for passing on the best player in the league for role players lol.

Pretty simple... best case scenario for blowing off the best player in the league for role players: you fill out your team with your first choice role players on 1 year deals (who’ll be gone in a year).

Best case scenario for waiting for a chance to sign the best player in the league: you sign the best player in the league and then you pick up whatever role players remain and make trades to get him help.

Worst case scenarios... not waiting: you definitely don’t get him and you definitely have a lotto team. Waiting: you don’t get him and you still have a lotto team with different bum role players (not necessarily any worse than what we got).

Who we trading for without getting fleeced? We getting Beal?! Lmao Beal & Whiteside to the rescue?! Blake Griffin?! Lol who?

And again, you’re assuming the role players we just signed will be gone next year when there’s 1 - a team option for them & 2 - a weak FA class

And you’re assuming we won’t challenge for bottom seed. That’s your assumption based on your horrible analysis of the players we signed with our young core. I don’t see it as such. That’s where we don’t have the same view on the situation. Understandable.

Your posts don’t really warrant responses man. Waste of time honestly lol. You’re just throwing dumbass names like Whiteside out there acting like that’s all we could trade our players for like it’s a fact. It’s ridiculous. This is not an 8th seed team btw...

I’d love for you to debate my horrible analysis on the bums I mentioned. Please enlighten me as to how they’re gunna restore this franchise to greatness.

Now our core is better than what the Clippers have.

Our core and picks couldn't even get us Anthony Davis

This ish is too funny. I'm just glad we handled our business. Now I can go down to Myrtle Beach for the week, enjoy Summer League and my vacation without having to refresh my phone every 5 minutes

I'm a little grumpy about the picks.

So again, if our core had so much trade value, why couldn't it net us AD?

the day kawhi comes out and says he wanted to sign with the knicks in 2019 but we used up all our cap space is the day I start to be upset about this, until then I'm not wasting energy getting upset about losing out on something that's pure fantasy

they passed on a superstar just as much as I passed on dating emilia clarke to date a girl on my block that was flawed but available

C'mon Wingo you know we were the only other team AD would sign an extension with (Lakers being the other) that was reported by multiple outlets

what does backlash prove? Knicks have lunch and shyt hits the fan.

It's all fine. It's your opinion and you're entitled to it. The team and others seem to disagree.

Maybe it could have, but we never offered to trade the farm for AD and the lakers did. I'm glad we didn't

We could have traded for picks and still had room for Kawhi though. That would have been a good plan....could even throw signing Randle in with that

lol I get that point, and believe me, I’ve been laughing at people who thought we had a chance in him, BUT to not even try when he was willing to hear us out???

The better analogy would be... they passed on a superstar the way u passed on dating Emilia Clarke...after she gave you a chance to make a pitch to her, but you declined and chose to date a girl on your block that was flawed but available
