Sign extension?? He’s no longer doing that. Rich made it very clear he’s going to be a UFA next season and would’ve probably ran to LA anyway

Do you think kawhi legit waited until June 30th to even think about free agency?

We could have traded for picks and still had room for Kawhi though

i don't think that would help attract him. you'd want to put the best team you could around him. the clippers did one small deal for 10 mill but they have the same team that went to the playoffs for him to play with. even so they kind of hedged their bets with that deal. if they knew he was coming, they never would have done it.

then the same people mad that we didn't waste time on the kawhi pipe dream would probably start calling out the team for wasting the summer on a lottery ticket instead of signing realistic targets

they can't win no matter what they do

Na, let’s wait to see this backlash starting tomorrow. Shyts gunna hit the fan.

Can’t stress enough that passing on a superstar meeting for bums is far worse than passing on bums for a meeting with a superstar.

what does backlash prove? Knicks have lunch and shyt hits the fan.

It's all fine. It's your opinion and you're entitled to it. The team and others seem to disagree.

That’s fair. But there’s always going to be people disagreeing on this board. It’s like what, 5 to 2/3 right now? I’m hardly vastly outnumbered lol. More will weigh in soon enough.

It’s not some outlandish thing here tho man.. if you have a chance to meet and try to convince with someone of that caliber, you should... the guy got traded to a team where virtually everyone knew he wasn’t going to stay at... look what happened, and he might return. Who knows... a chance is still a chance.

Your the 1 who said if we waited for Kawhi, and he came we could trade to get him better players. So again who were we supposed to trade?

Because it was reported that our youngens of Knox, DSJ, Trier and Frank were not highly though of around the league by other GM's

Sounds smart to me, let’s complain about it.

This makes no sense. So Kawhi won’t sign anywhere because KD is in BK? Wtf logic is this?

He's headed to the LeBron Lakers.

Yeah, I feel you. Personally, I like the Randle signing and think I would have shot my shot at Kawhi and picked up what was left when he undoubtedly skipped on us. Portis might be something that pans out, but think we could have gotten value waiting too.

We'll just have to see though.

If Kawhi wants to be a Knick now ... today ... all we’d have to do is make room. It wouldn’t be hard. Knox, Frank, RJ would get you there. Or pay a Portis a little more to ship him with a pick to another team like LA, with another player.

On August 1 RJ is tradable. Easy really.

You guys are too linear. Things can be done out of order. So what.

I don’t know, I’m not a Gm, and I’m not going to post hypotheticals because people will always freak out about that despite the fact that we continue to see very good players traded for trash.

Favors was traded for second rounders, and Iggy was traded as a salary dump with picks. Taking those two in alone without giving up our core would be a huge start to a contender around Kawhi.

Teams may not have been all that hyped about Knox or DSJr, but what about RJ? We couldn’t have gotten anything for him? Doubt that.

... or if you want to keep the kids you trade Randle. But Randle and Kawhi is a contender.

So Perry decided to pass on a meeting w Kawhi for 4 bums? And yes, he could've signed Randle and Portis and still had a max slot.

Please tell me this is fake news. Regardless, fire Perry & Mills stat

Basically, the Knicks knew the hot girl wasn't going to the prom with them, so they picked up a whole wagon of ugly chicks. Not a bad move at all really.

I know this is all just a hypothetical but you do realize that none of that is ever going to happen right like there's a less than 0% chance we trade RJ before the season starts

One time I did ask the hottest girl in my grade to a dance and she said yes. So we went together. I wish it was a better story but we didn't really hit it off. I wasn't really prepared for a yes.

I'm not sure if there's a moral here. You never do know, I guess.
