Not sure what is going on with Livingston. Is Cook gone? Definitely need another quick gaurd but I have been saying it for years.

Jeremy Lin - He's always been a good player, great bball iq, good veteran teammate. Lin would and always has been a guy that could fit well with our group, older but we need vets.
Delon Wright - Dorrells younger brother is really quick and relentless getting into the paint. Wright is also a bigger point guard and is a good defender. He has no outside shot really.

Shumpert/KCP/Holiday/Sefolosha - All 3 and D vets. If you can get any of them at the minimum you do it. Holiday actually makes sense since he played in our system.

Cousins - Guy has to be getting paid by somebody. As tough as it was watching him limp to the finish line in the finals the guy is still a good player. Seemed like a good teammate who got his role. Prior to his playoff injury he looked good at times, sometimes outplayed the best centers in the NBA. If he wants to come back you do it. We need as much scoring as possible imo to get into the playoffs.

Bogut - Would love Bogut back, he played good basketball for us. Bogut still sets a great screen, good passer, still is a good anchor guy on defense, and probably the most underrated is he's one of the best post up defenders in the NBA. Bogut has a calmimg influence, and I think having him back helps us stay the course.

Parker - I don't know where to begin, he's like what Carmelo is now but young. Take a flier on Parker, because we really have zero offense off the bench.

Time wasn’t on our side as the Twolves were probably on the verge of landing Russell before we swooped in. Not so much a F up just unfortunate we didn't have more time to deal him.

I don't believe for a second the Wolves had a deal for Wiggins to clear caproom. I mean who even had caproom at the time? NYK, DAL, LAC and LAL by my count, the LA teams weren't it obviously and NY signed a bunch of two year deal quick so that pretty much just leaves the Mavs, not happening.

not sure why we couldn't have went to the Mavs and said, 'hey, ya'll want Iggy? Memphis wants him but only for a 1st, can you beat that?"...guarantee u they would've.

this was a panic move thru and thru.

i mean, the fact that we didn't even get lotto protection is nonsensical. just insane.

Hard to convince me Myers didn't call every team with cap space and ask them did they want to absorb the contract.

He'd be good on the Mavs, I'm OK with that. Obviousl, not the Rox.

if he gets traded again and then bought out he will be eligible to come back to the Warriors look out for that!

we need a wing!
no way mckinnie can be trusted as a starter SF next season, even until klay is back. he can play some minutes, but that's a different story.
myers need to pull another rabbit out of a hat and bring a decent SF.

The problem with trading with the Rockets is the Warriors would have had to take salary back. That wasn't feasible, given the acquisition of DLo under a S&T would hard cap the team. I also doubt the Warriors would have wanted to deal with the Rockets directly.

As far as the Mavs are concerned, maybe at the time of the S&T discussions the Mavs had other plans for their cap space or roster that precluded them from making a deal 4 days ago. Or maybe Iguodala indicated he didn't want to go to the Mavs for whatever reason. There is also the possibility that if the Mavs had known that the Warriors *had* to move Iguodala in order to secure DLo, the terms of any deal with them would likely be different than acquiring him from the Grizzlies.

Look, I'm not thrilled about moving a future 1st with Iquodala, but it doesn't surprise me. $17M is a lot of salary to take on. I am also less thrilled than others here about taking on DLo, hoping that his S&T was just an interim step to find another team by July 6th. Given how the Warriors are working under the narrow margin below the apron, that doesn't seem likely.

All that said, I think the Warriors are in a better position now than I thought would be possible when I considered KD signing with another team without a S&T. The deals were probably needed given Klay will be out much, if not all, of 2019-20. If Klay were 100% at the start of 2019-20, you have to wonder what direction the Warriors would have taken.

May not end up two firsts, after all. According to Marks, "The pick that's going out in the sign-and-trade with Brooklyn and Golden State is really heavily protected that it will eventually turn into a second-round pick I think."

Don't they also get a trade exception in the Memphis trade?

If Cuban wasn't a billionaire I would suggest the W's slip 17M to the Mav's to facilitate. Maybe in unmarked bills.

We would have had to take back salary from the Rockets to trade with them and the Mavs were tied up in the Jimmy Butler three team trade fiasco. The T wolves were in the mix for D Lo and Myers nabbed an asset but at some cost. I think it was worth it.

We'd have to take a player and hisoneu back from the Rockets to match salary right?

Maybe the same from the Mavs, because they are close to their limit now.

We did get the 17 million dollar trade exception for Iggy.

Since we will have only a very short window to use it next off season, I see us using that 17 mil, or close to it.

i never said trade him to the Rox, and I said the Mavs/Rox are interested in Iggy, meaning hes a positive asset we should never attached a 1st rounder to offload and did so in desperation to close the deal.

let alone an unprotected first rounder

I hear ya. I wasn't fond of using a 1st (albeit protected) to offload him either. I'm glad we got the Exception though, because we kind of have to use it. Could come in handy.

I'm confident more info will come out on the 6th when they can fully describe how it went down and why they went in the directions they did.

I also feel ya on the huge need for a wing. I'm not a fan of Glenn Robinson at all (hope to be proven wrong), so I don't feel like he moves the needle in any way. He's gonna have to return to 40% plus on 3's for me to feel good about it. I don't think he's a good defender, so that's a head scratcher as well.

I still feel like DLo is a good assets though, and I feel like playing with Steph will only enhance his game, so there may be some teams more interested in him, than there would be otherqise.
