Smart rebuilds always do stuff like this
We’ve seen 3 teams from our own division do the asset for salary dump route and we’ve seen those 3 teams enter the upper tier of NBA teams.
All since the last time we made the playoffs.
Meanwhile in Knicksland....
Lets have some patience. The knicks traded KP for Assets, and these deals (Which all have team options) are for high level roleplayers that teams will want come playoff time. We could still trade for either picks or maybe young players.
The point that a lot of people are missing is the knicks had a list of plans depending how Durant chose. Once he went to another team, option 2 was to move quickly to get certain guys on short deals which is what the knicks did. Now imagine if we were waiting for Kawhi and afterwards all that was left LT tier players and doing deals with teams that have historically gone out there way to short change the knicks?
I’m happy with the Randle signing.
Everything else not so much.
Give me the assets and let the kids rock. Live with the results.
Like a normal rebuild.
They don’t want to rebuild. They want to “compete”.
That’s there plan B-Z.
We’ll see if we can flip these guys , or will even be willing to flip these guys, for assets
