The only good fireworks is the one sung by Katy Perry.

Fireworks are legal to buy here and there are several, several stores in town. Lots get lit-off (...I assume/hope) at random times of the year that make you stop and think "gunshot or firework?" Then around the 4th, I have several **** neighbors (in a **** nice neighborhood) who take it upon themselves to turn their yards into artillery ranges. Drives my two cats crazy, so I can only imagine how it affects dogs, livestock, birds, etc. Sigh.

I don't mind legit fireworks. I'm over it after the 4th though. I also think it's lame when adults take video of just about anything including fireworks though. That ****'s never gonna get watched and is likely garbage quality anyways. Put your phone away and enjoy the present.

Re: OT: General OT Thread [NO POLITICS OR RELIGION]
I can't stand the guy who shoots off a random firework during the day where you can see anything but hear a small whistle and a loud boom. Ok it was cool once and at night mixed in with other fireworks. You are just being a dick at other times. No one besides the person lighting them off likes them. You don't hear "you know what I love is when I'm having a beer on a Sunday day on the lake in an inner tube falling asleep when out of nowhere there's a loud boom like a bomb was dropped"

Last two years my neighbor, who I love, has had ridiculous fireworks shows. Super cool to watch on the side, but I'm still finding cardboard/firework pieces in my yard/roof a year later.
Not to mention they give my corgi panic attacks that no amount of calming hemp/cbd treats can stop.

99% certain that this is pretty similar with what the Queen says to anyone who would listen.

Two things:
1- Karen, for the 7th time. This isn't the grand finale. You don't have to keep telling your kids, "Here it comes!" or "It's the grand finale!". It's been like 10 minutes, we've got at least 20-30 more minutes of this ****.
2- Bill, no one cares about watching your damn drone video of the fireworks, you can land it anytime now. It was cool the first time I saw a drone fireworks video like 8 years ago. Now you're just a douche with your multicolor changing drone making everyone comment, "Oh is that a drone?" or "Hey look at that thing. I think it's a drone!" while we are trying to watch fireworks and not your piece of ****.
Ok I have another. Parents, if you have kids who like to constantly just high pitch scream through the whole god damn fireworks show, you need to go to hell. If your kids can't handle the fireworks, they need earplugs or they need to stay at home. I'm not talking about ooos or ahhhs. I'm talking full-on I'm being burned alive screaming.

This has become an epidemic. Constant screaming on playgrounds primarily. I get that they're kids and having fun, but bloodcurdling screams every 10 seconds is the new norm.
Some kid is going to get abducted off a playground, and nobody will try to intervene because the child's scream will just blend in with the rest of them.

All that needs to be said.
Also fireworks in one's back yard or driveway suck. Go to the park, watch the adults do it the right way, go home, drink beer, keep fingers.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.
Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

The screeching is not, nor has it ever been cute. The parents that think it is need to be sterilized.Mags FTW wrote:trwi7 wrote:crkone wrote:Parents, if you have kids who like to constantly just high pitch scream

Coco Gauff is awesome. She has to go up against world #1 Simona Halep next, but man is she fun to watch. She dropped her first set of the tournament today (qualifiers and main draw) in the first set, but she fought back and won the second set in a tie breaker and the third with a break. Almost 3 hours on court - she could run all day. Being 15 has its advantages.
Second week of Wimbledon at 15 years old. Pretty incredible.

ESPN's Wimbledon coverage has been subpar this year. This stupid ESPN+ bull is annoying. They won't cover the outer court matches because they want people to pay for their subscription service. They were on the air in studio for an hour today while there was live tennis being played, including two men's matches involving American players. Barely got mentioned much less any televised coverage. They used to do a great job of jumping around all the outer court matches as needed.

As the owner of small children, it's pretty simple. Put bloody earmuffs on them.

Our own country prioritised Nick fricking Krygios over the actual women's world no 1 (that's right MIG
