Nah, stuff gets weird with family. It’s not like signing a 10 year vet in Robin who’s proven himself. They’d only be on the roster because of Giannis and those situations never end well. We’ve learned time and again the importance of maximizing roster spots. In 2019-20 we can’t be blowing them on Greek DeAndre Liggins.
He's probably more Andre Roberson then Liggins. He's a top tier lock down defender with no offence besides dunks.

A healthy Roberson proved himself as one of the top wing defenders in the NBA and can at least knock down open threes. Compensated with a nice long term contract. Liggins has been in and out of the league his whole career. Thanasis played like 10 minutes a game in Europe. He’s much closer to Liggins, but even parsing the two is funny.

At all. Right, okay. And he's just turning 27.

We'll see about that when he cracks the rotation...

He could barely crack the rotation overseas, nor could he a few years ago for a bad Knicks team. Not every move needs to be blindly defended. If he was an NBA quality player, he would have proved it on his own without needing his brother’s franchise to gift him a contract. Especially when players like Jamychal Green, Marcus Morris, Trey Lyles, Rondae Hollis Jefferson and more NBA QUALITY players with discernible skills are available.

You know Giannis doesn't read realgm or care about any of us?

IMO if we're gonna be the Milwauke Nepotisms, let's get Alex Lasry as our 15th man and sign Mallory Edens as an assistant coach.

It's exactly like this. Robin sucks and he's only on the roster because the Bucks wanted to sign Brook. It's not ideal but if the Bucks lock up Giannis long-term, then you can say this was a good signing.

Robin is on the roster because pp blackmailed Horst.

There were multiple teams last year hoping Robin would get bought out so they could sign him before the playoffs. He sucks as a starter maybe but as a backup he's actually pretty good imo.

Nah. Even if your subjective perspective is that Robin “sucks”, there’s no disputing that NBA teams have valued his services for a decade. Thanasis couldn’t make the NBA a few years ago and has proven himself a 9th man in the Euroleague. Robin is an NBA player on 29 other teams absent from Brook. Not the case with Thanasis.

I'd rather sign Giannis's brother than Vince Carter, who has been suggested. Thanasis serves a role (family). Carter does not. Thansasis and Korver are good signings.

Haha pretty sure Thanasis “serves the role of family” whether or not he undeservedly tags along on Giannis’s NBA team. I’m also fine with no Carter or Korver.

Has anyone credible suggested we might sign Thanasis?

I like Thanasis for what he is by the way. Always root for him when I’m watching Panathinaikos or the Greek national team. Used to even keep up with his Westchester Knick games. Just think it’s bad business to award a roster spot to an unqualified player because his brother is the star.

not a good idea signing Thanasis because then you gotta get rid of him which will piss off giannis

You’re allowed to have your opinion bud. You’re in the minority regarding this for a reason though. He’s not good enough to warrant an NBA roster spot
