Re: Kawhi Leonard?
My sources tell me a decision will be made by July 6th 2020.
Its down to the Clippers, Raptors, Lakers, Globetrotters, and the Washington Generals.

My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point.

The next few DAYS? This is getting ridiculous. Guess we have to hope he's just holding out so the Clippers have time to make a trade.

The more Chris "Multiple Sauces" Broussard says the Lakers are leading, the more likely they're the team that's out based on his track record...lol

Earlier today he said the Clippers are out. That was all I needed to know that he's definitely coming here.Max Headrom wrote:The more Chris "Multiple Sauces" Broussard says the Lakers are leading, the more likely they're the team that's out based on his track record...lol

Fox Sports reported that the other day when he said it and then had to delete the tweet and article because as we all know, this guy doesn't know Jack shi+ lol
Jabari and Cris Carter are the only semi-reliable people to report because they're actually plugged into Kawhi's camp in some capacity

Re: Kawhi Leonard?
No one really knows anything. Let the faker fan boys talk it’s fine. Deep down still think we get him cause aren’t we kinda over due to win one of this??
Side note wish we managed to get beal of Washington. I know straight up deal might not work but if we found a 3rd team willing to take on wall contract? A team we could bribe with picks(something like maybe Mem or clv or similar team we’re having cap space doesn’t mean much since most top players don’t want to go there)....

Re: Kawhi Leonard?
He has poor management.
You are supposed to bare the weight of the decision, no matter how difficult it is. You don’t let 3 teams/ companies bare that weight.
You make a choice and give the team you’re going to the confidence that you are all in, no matter how tough the choice was for you personally.
You don’t make it so that your next day at work everybody in the building knows that you may have misgivings, or that you may think the grass is greener on the other side, or that you were this close *pinches fingers* to picking someone else over them.
This is incredibly stupid and the longer it goes, the worse it looks for him...
This is actually beneath Steve Ballmer and our organization to me but whatever...he can do whatever he wants because he’s the roster upgrade everyone needs.

I think Kawhi IS bearing the brunt of this. At this point 2 teams will be angry because they lost opportunities at other players. Their fans doubly angry. And the whole sports world wants an answer NOW.
But Kawhi didn't ask for any of this. And he isn't jumping to everybody else's tune. This is HIS life and nobody else's. HE has to put up with the results of his decision, day by day, hour to hour--for the next 2 to 5 years.
This is my take as headhunter. Although I only get paid if you take the deal my client is offering, in the end I have to play it straight up and say, hey, this is YOUR life. And in this crazy and confusing world of 24/7 media, social media and $100s of millions at stake, Kawhi is showing himself once again as a strong-minded man---the strong-mindedness that makes him a champion.
He will not be rushed. This is HIS life.
In my headhunter professional opinion--which values the human part more than the numbers part, the Lee Jenkins thing--the Clippers are the best choice for Kawhi the person.
--I think Kawhi thinks he SHOULD stay in Toronto with his teammates to defend their crown and of course for the wonderful fans of Toronto. But it's a foreign country, and as Lou Will said [who played in TOR], even when you're "at home," it's still like you're playing overseas. You're never HOME.
--I think Kawhi thinks he SHOULD want to play for the Lakers, to show he's not afraid of the challenge to play on the biggest stage in the basketball world, among the greatest like West, Wilt, Kareem and Magic--and the giants of his youth, Shaq and Kobe. And alongside another possible GOAT, that LeBron guy. And AD. Basketball speaking, it's an invitation to Valhalla.
--But I also think that what Kawhi WANTS is to be a Clipper, which suits his vibe. Where he will be most comfortable for perhaps the rest of his career. He just proved you don't need a big stage to win a championship. And the Clippers org has just proven itself the most tight-lipped of orgs. It's the chillest vibe in the league, a championship coach, some promising kids, and lunchbucket guys like Pat Bev, Trezz, new addition Harkless, and the most elegant of nonsuperstars, Lou Will and Gallo. And the best owner, not only the richest but the most stoked on his team while still being the least intrusive.
The question for the tough-minded Kawhi is whether he'll do what he SHOULD do or what he WANTS to do.
If he can sign the full guaranteed 5-year with a 2-year out clause, if I'm Uncle Dennis, that's what I would advise him to do, fully intending to join the Clippers eventually and still wrapping up the guaranteed $$. I just don't see why Kawhi'd really want to play with the Lakers. He's won Finals MVP with Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, each HOFers. Been there, done that.
I'd rather lead my own crew of Pat and Lou and Trezz and Shai and Sham and even Moe than be part of Bron's and AD's crew. And frankly, I think that would be a fustercluck anyway with 3 strangers on "load management" backed by a minimum-wage bench, LOL/WTF.
Now if it were ME, I'd do what I WANT to do instead of what I SHOULD do. I'd become a Clipper and shut everybody in the basketball world the fck up and leave them gasping.
But that's just me.

Re: Kawhi Leonard?
It hasn't even been a month since the dude was playing in the finals, little over two weeks since the parade celebration. Man was telling everyone that he was looking to get some alcohol in his veins and eat all the desserts he could after what surely was a draining run. He has every right to take his time for a life altering decision, and on top of that, he's not leading anyone on or giving any sort of signals, positive or negative, to anyone at all. I respect his way of approaching FA a lot, tbh.
Let's remember that Lebron announced he was going to south beach on July 8th, and he announced his return to Cleveland on July 11th. Shaq signed with the Lakers on July 14th. Billups signed with the Pistons on July 17th. It barely ever happens as quick as everything's happened this year. We just have twitter and a million ways to consume information 24/7 now, so it looks like we've been waiting forever, but it's more than normal that the guy is thinking what he's gonna do 5 days after FA opens. He doesn't owe us **** anyway.
