Not that I GAF about BK, but it'll be interesting to see how Kyrie plays alongside Lavert. They both need the ball in their hands to be effective offensively. I just have never liked Irving's isolation game, he essentially lulls the defense with his dribbling expose for 15 seconds and than does something usually over the top like he's playing AND 1 basketball. Nets did well for themselves playing a team brand of ball last season; let's see how Atkinson is able to incorporate Kyrie with his returning players.

I still feel we dodged a major bullet avoiding him and Durant. I wanted KD up until the point of that injury, at that juncture he became an afterthought. Good luck to them but as of now their roster doesn't look anywhere near ready to compete.

pero.. why is Kadeem Allen not being locked up on that last roster spot?

Dude was super solid last year and ran the team better than Frank and Mudiay. I'm lost at the thought of bringing back LFT when Kadeem can be locked up on a team friendly deal...and a fraction compared to a guy like Cory Joseph who just got 3/37..

I think he will be in a 2way contract.

Or we are waiting to see if someone breaks out in summer league before signing Kareem.

Or we are waiting to see ir he receives others bids to match as a RFA.

Kadeem is on a 2-way. He’ll probably have his contract converted to a regular deal.

He also deserves props for this

Imagine watching a sport network, where they talk about a team that made the playoffs last season, and now have 2 max contract worthy players on 4 year contract, and then have a segment where they ask the question: Do the Nets have to win title?

Everyone on the set said different variation of: No, they don't have to win a title with Kyrie and Durant to be viewed as a success, since them not joining the big brother[Knicks], but instead joining the little brother will lay out something better for the organization for decades to come.

I was holding out hope that someone would say, of course they have to win a title, because it they went to the Knicks instead and they didn't win a title it their time with the Knicks would be viewed as a failure.

I thought the "foundation" was laid when the Nets had Kidd, Jefferson and KMart? Then wasn't it laid again when they traded for KG and Pierce? Different arena's but still the same team no?

Spoiler:
Point being: foundations crack, for some teams a lot faster than others, there are only a handful of professional sports franchises that can maintain sustainability when it comes to this sort of thing. The only way this can be maintained is if KD and Kyrie win a couple championships together. Not sure how likely it is post Achilles. If KD didn't rupture his Achilles, then yes, I'd be more inclined to agree. But now? Don't see it. What this trade does is validate the Nets. It doesn't set the foundation for sustained anything. So this whole 'better organization for decades to come' is just idealistic drivel.

I guess Chris Mannix, Nick Wright, and Cris Carter are trying to get free tickets to their games.
