I'd like to see Mitch-5, Randle-4, RJ-3, DSJr-2, Payton-1 as the starters on opening day. You got Payton playing with four of our guys with the highest upside and then you take pressure off Knox by bringing him off the bench as the 6th man. Portis also looks like a guy who can give you 12-8 off the bench, as an energizer.

I'm not surprised that Frank is on the block. They gotta move somebody, and it would make sense that it would be Phil's pick.

oh I agree, but we have been connecting the dots for a while now. Payton been already guaranteed minutes by the organization. So unless Frank beats out DSJ...and again DSJ is a this regimes guy so I assume they will give him the 1st 2nd and 3rd shot to earn minutes over frank. Then RJ going to start at the 2...and they didn't bring in Ellington to not play either. Consider Dotson a 3rd stringer as well but they will keep him around.

I think ideally Frank along with RJ and Randle in the starting lineup makes the most sense. You now have 3 guys who can do some creating and if Frank ever just hit an open shot (I think he has more upsdie then Payton/DSJ as a floor spacer. That would be our most ideal starting lineup next to Knox and Mitch.

nothing would piss me off more giving up on Frank at 21 and him thriving somewhere else when he really never got a "legit" look here.

teams would just play a zone vs us...not one of those guys is a realiable 3 point shooter and Payton and DSJ don't even take them consistently.

They're not going to play him. If you look at our signings/roster it was pretty clear he doesn't have a place.

At this point, I almost want Frank to get traded to a situation where he will get playing time and make something of his NBA career

I like the kid and don't want him to rot on our bench. And he would. Fiz is not going to play him

Change of scenery will give him a chance IMO

which is a mistake over the current roster...he has the most potential in terms of his outside shot out of any of the PG's to play off the ball with RJ and Randle. Plus he is clearly the best defensive guard on the roster...which this team sorely needs guys who defends because outside of Mitch this team will be a disaster on the defensive end.

Just dont talk about it when he becomes a top defender and starts hitting his 3's. Also dont complain about perimeter defense either bc yall been chitting on him ever since.
