It very easily could be for something related to the Raptors and MLSE Foundation. The media space could be used for almost anything.

I don’t think this is true. If Kawhi didn’t want the media to leak the announcement he could break the news at this press conference that he’s deciding to stay.

Contract can’t be signed until tomorrow meaning the league would not get the deal faxed in today to break the news.

Kawhi could announce today that he will be singing with the raps officially tomorrow. This would also allow the Lakers to use their cap space instead of losing it, as a gentleman’s gesture. Time will tell.
