Cliff said we need to get better attacking the paint. Going to be hard to do without guards.

Didn't like how he said it.
It makes you wonder.

In case anyone is wondering, Erik McCree's wingspan is only 6'10.75"

If he was ready for 5v5 he would probably be out there right now, no?

I don't think he would be even if he were ready for 5 on 5. I don't think we want to take any risks with him and also give him the maximum time possible to prepare for the season. Also, even though he's barely played, he's still technically a 3rd year player.

Is BJ Taylor or Chad Brown going to play this game? I know we destroying them and don't need our UCF guys in this game.

Re: Summer League Game One vs San Antonio 11pm EST
Steve Clifford loose transcript
ON EARTHQUAKE - "I was watching the lights moving around up there. Mo had that dunk. I think that caused it."
ON BAMBA - "Mo got off to a good start. This is his first live action. He's gonna be on a minutes restriction. He's anxious to get going, did a good job in practice this week. Gonna take him a bit to get his timing down.
ON BAMBA MADE THREE - "HELLO! That's his second one (jumper). He is a very very good 3 point shooter. Mo can have a complete pick and roll game. He can put pressure on the rim rolling and he's gonna be a very good range shooter."
WILL BAMBA/VUCEVIC SHARE THE FLOOR? - "We tried a little bit of that last year before Mo got hurt. Other teams like San Antonio played 3 out 2 in. Both of those guys shoot the three. They certainly can play offensively together, but can we matchup at the other end of the floor? (MY NOTE: SOUNDED SKEPTICAL)
HOW DID YOU GUYS SUCCEED LATE LAST YEAR? "We were more balanced over the last 35 games of the year. Our defense was really good and our offensive was much better. Over the last 35 games we had a top half, top 15 offense and were first in defense. You can win with that kind of balance.
CONCERNED WITH VUCEVIC AND ROSS HAVING BIG YEARS IN CONTRACT YEARS? "Not at all. Guys who perform well in their contract year, you know they can play well under pressure. There's no more pressure than playing for your NBA future. Not worried about our guys. Vuc had a great year and Ross had his best year."
ON OKEKE - "It's gonna be a while, but we knew that when we drafted him. Really talented player with good size and a high IQ. Really in many ways he was the glue for their team. He can shoot the three. He can really pass the ball. His biggest strength will be his defense."
ON FULTZ - "He's working hard. Making a lot of progress, but he's not ready for 5 on 5 yet. He's doing a good job."
FULTZ ANSWER INTERRUPTED BY JEFFRIES DUNK - "He played at Tulsa. Versatile player. Made 38% from three in college. He's been really good in our practices this week. High BBIQ. Let's the game come to him. Very easy to play with him."
ON ISAAC - "We've had a bunch of guys who have had a good summer and Jonathan is at the top of that list. He's spent ton of time with Pat Delany and our shooting coach (I missed the name). He's a terrific team defender, good individual defender with a very good BBIQ and knows how to play."
ON TEAM BUILDING - That's Jeff Weltman and John Hammond. They are both terrific basketball men. Very experienced with a vision on how to build it. The NBA game is more perimeter based now, but size is still critical. You want as much positional size as you can get. Toronto is a great example. They are big everywhere. It allows you to switch more when you have guys who can play and guard multiple positions."
ON TORONTO SERIES - "I was disappointed. We played really well the last 25-30 games of the year. I thought we would make it harder on them. They really picked up their defense after Game 1 and we couldn't find enough ways to score. We were all disappointed we didn't play better."
ON JEFFERSON - He's one of our two-way players. Smart, smart player. He played some games for us at end of year. When he's on the floor, you're gonna function because he's mistake free."
MORE ON OFFENSE - "We're looking for more ways to get the ball going to the basket. We need more points in the paint and more free throws. We were near the bottom of the league in points in the paint and free throws. Some of it is individual work with guys on driving the ball more. There are more things we can do within the team concept. More cutting action, more screen actions. We shot the three well last year, but we gotta find more ways to get the ball going to the basket."
ON AMINU - "I can't talk about that right now. *Laughs*"
ON MCCREE - "He's been around. He played in Europe, the G-League. He's strong and physical. He's the best perimeter guy we have here at getting own shot.
ON EARTHQUAKE - "I was watching the lights moving around up there. Mo had that dunk. I think that caused it."

Re: Summer League Game One vs San Antonio 11pm EST
Eubanks scored on bamba twice. 1 on 1. He just doesn't have the defensive Intensity needed for a full game. No reason why a guy like eubanks should be able to score on him like that on back to back plays

LOL Bamba is just such a lazy defensive player.
All the tools to dominate, but none of the grit or desire on that end.
