Ainge could use some of the balls that the Clips have. They punted CP3, Deandre and Blake and then had the cojones to make the move for PG that landed them Kawhi.
But good luck moving forward with Tatum, Brown and Kemba.

I shouldn't be surprised but wow is the Raptors board already vicious towards Kawhi for leaving. They brought him in as a 1 year mercenary from the beginning and it worked as well as possible.

How are people still referring to Bled's contract as an "anchor?" Are you seeing the contracts these other players are getting? We re-signed a starting caliber, all-defense PG to a contract making under 20M a year. If this team doesn't work going forward it's not going to be that contract.

So Kawhi pretty easily goes down in history as the greatest Raptor player ever, yeah? Amazing their three best ever guys in Carter, Bosh and Kawhi all left unceremoniously.

I don't think I could be anymore happier than if at some point during the season it's announced Davis has left Rich Paul and is open to leaving the Lakers. Please let that happen basketball gods.

Re: ATL: Free Agency
Unbelievable. This league.
Kawhi to the Clippers was the best thing possible for the Bucks. Kawhi and Paul George to the Clippers is a scary thought. That's going to be a monster defensive pairing. Add in Pat Bev and that's a scary group on that end of the floor.
Props to Steve Ballmer, Doc Rivers, and Jerry West. When they had an opportunity to add these monster two-way superstars, they didn't balk at the price. They did everything they could to make it happen, and now they've got a title contender AND managed to snatch all of the limelight away from the LeBron-AD Lakers in one fell swoop.

Re: ATL: Free Agency
Am I the only one a little curious about OKC doing that deal? They had PG under contract for three more years and the lotto is even more of a crapshoot with the rule changes.
For as bad as the the Nets/Celtics trade was, those picks netted Tatum, Brown and Colin Sexton.
I guess as good as George was he wasn’t good enough and that OKC wasn’t going anywhere fast. But ****, giving up a first team all nba guy under contract for three more years is a massive call to make...

Ahhhh, yes. A franchise that has NEVER lured a big name FA away from another team is going to land an MVP in his prime. Sure...

It's a risk, obviously, but they weren't going anywhere with that group. They were basically a mid-tier West team that had a second round peak. Obviously, it would have been nice to dump Russ, too, which I suspect they're trying to do. But all of that compensation could help them rebuild - if they know how to scout talent.

Everything coming from the OKC side of things is the organisation didn't want to deal with a star wanting out for the entire season.

True. I guess it would’ve dragged on to the inevitable conclusion of PG getting traded. I guess take all the picks while you can. They really don’t have much prospect of being good picks until that Kawhi contract is up though.

There's a heap of young guys I know that share from rubbish sources on socials.
Initially thought it was this until I saw it was ESPN
