OKC Are Now The 2020 Title Favorites

Post#1 » by SecondTake » Wed Jun 19, 2019 8:41 pm

2020 Looks like the year we win the chip;

- GSW in Shambles leaves the league wide open
- Roberson Healthy
- Burton an extra year older and getting the keys to the franchise
- Grant & Ferg are both freak athletes and super hard workers. I expect them to dominate both ends next year
- Getting rid of Adams. Probably resigning Noel & getting a shooting backup big
- Presti going to offload Adams/Schroder and probably getting us some incredible contributors in exchange.

With the league wide open, our young super core of Ferg/Grant/Burton and a top 3 duo in the league in WB/PG we should be favorites to win 2020 along with LAL, TOR, PHI - in fact I'd say we are THE favorites now.

They have the chance as the last three years. None. They are less likely to make the playoffs this year than they have been at any point since 2010.

Facts are neither positive or negative. If you do not like facts I highly encourage you to put me on ignore because I'm not going to start pretending that Russ could find a unicorn and it could magically turn him into a good shooter and fix his knees.

If it bothers you, Anthony, put him on ignore.

I think this is an unbelievably optimistic POV, but they're in a better spot than they were—mainly due to GSW being out of the way. And hopefully getting their teeth kicked in twice in the first round inspires some soul searching this offseason. We'll see.

Eh. I don't know that he's deliberate. Just very optimistic.

Please put the peace pipe down and step away.

How are the Thunder doing this "resigning Noel & getting a shooting backup big"?
You know the other team has to want the $25 million dollar center and the $15 million PG to offload Adams/Schroder and probably getting us some incredible contributors in exchange, would be impressive, but doubtful.

The league is wide open.

I don't think you can put Burton into this group.

Who's your top 3 duo's in the League? Bron and AD got to be #1. Are we not counting Klay and Curry?

I'm actually in favor of missing the playoffs next year. I'll probably bitch and moan the entire way, but I think it'll be best for the franchise to miss the playoffs and start shedding some of these bad contracts.

Congrats guys. I'm a Toronto fan but really like OKC. I'm happy that while we lost Kawhi, you got some great stuff out of losing PG. You guys made out like a bandit in this trade, and have a really bright future. Looking forward to seeing you guys.

Man, this must be throwing those odds makers for a loop
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

I'm envious of OKC. Danilo and SGA are going to be good next year and to have all those picks.

Reminds me of when the Cowboys traded Walker to Minnesota for a record number of picks. Then Dallas built a mini dynasty.

One of the best 5 trades of the last 30 years. Congrats! Now find a dumpster for Westbrooks $45 million timebomb, maybe Orlando?

Only as a salary dump. As a magic fan I want no part of trading picks/young players for that massive contract.

Yeah I don't think anybody believes it's positive value but the Magic are one of the few teams that have nothing at point guard, want to compete short term and have matching garbage salary. Fultz' corpse is $8.4 million and the body of Mozgov is $16. That's at least getting close. Maybe Grant?
