I'd happily corner the market on the brothers even though I think the current need is for a bigger player,

Have to imagine if an offer is still there it’d be for 1 year? Or we would look to move Doug? Seems like a cluttering on the wings but would definitely protect us if it takes a full season for Vic to get back to the swing of things.

I’m not worried about Sumner since we have him signed for 3 years now and definitely a long term plan.

so teams aren't supposed to talk to reporters about who they are after but can talk about who they are not after??? seems strange.

Would like him, but we don't really have a role for him. He'd be in the KOQ role essentially, which I doubt he's looking for. He'd be better off taking a minimum from the Lakers when they figure their things out.

Remaining F/As to consider:

Stanley Johnson
Trey Lyles
Cheick Diallo
JaMychal Green
Jabari Parker
Dragan Bender
Marquese Chriss
Marcus Morris

I also wouldn't put it past Kevin to execute another trade.

With Warren, Lamb and Doug at SF, and Lamb and Brogdon able to play SG I don't know where Justin would play. I'd personally like a big, there are guys on your list if we could get them for the exception we have or the cap space left or some part of it. Green is probably too expensive, but Lyles, Bender and Chriss are guys who could be gotten. I'd like Lyles best out that group because the other all seemed to have flamed out. Bender and Chriss are still young and could become productive players at some point.

How much would Lyles be asking for? I figured he’d be out of our price range.

I love his game. He was born in Canada but grew up in Indianapolis. He’s just only going to turn 24 early in the season.

We could take Bender on minumum...he needs coach to work with him... he is 7-1 with good latheral speed and 3pt shot... he could be usefull...

ARE you saying that a BAD 3 pt shooter can learn to be a good one well into their career? I thought once a guy shoots poorly once, they’re bad shooters forever

Bender’s a career 39/32/65 shooter. Last season he was a 45/22/59 shooter. I’m all for a guy having the chance to improve and maybe having been in a terrible environment for him. Just, recognize it’s not just Euro’s that can improve too

I really want a hot cooker kind of vet at the 4 spot or someone that can earn their keep in small runs across the court. RHJ is the guy I like for the 14th spot for his ability to just throw him in in situations and let him guard pretty much any spot on the court. Otherwise, a vet that doesn’t need to be hot, or a lot of run to warm up would be nice (Jared Dudley or Ed Davis were my kind of guys there). Bender would be fine as a 15th guy on the Ft Wayne Express if he’d be willing to do that. But honestly, he might need a year of play on a 2 Way contract.

while I recognize that guys can add range to their shooting, I hold out little hope for guys who don't shoot free throws well.

Not sure if anything has changed, but he had some attitude issues early on. I recall something about him complaining Snyder's practices were too hard/intense. Could explain why a talented young former lotto pick hasn't gotten many minutes and doesn't seem to have much free agency interest.

Denver made him restricted, so it's hard to say. His QO by Denver is $4.6m, which he could sign anytime tomorrow or after, once the moratorium releases.

Based on Denver's lack of other movements this summer, and now Michael Porter's new injury, I think they might be ok with keeping him for one more year on that QO and seeing what happens.

That would be sweet and makes sense. Oladipo will only start to play in 2020. All that time, we need some other quality players at the wing.

Start Lamb at the 3 and move Warren to the (backup) 4, as was already planned?

If Brogdon misses a game in 2019, we are anything but deep now on guards.

Just promote Sabonis to defensive stopper at the 4 :)

I mean, generally if two guys who play the same positions are out you’re going to be short in that position?

Some teams can be shorter short though

I mean, it's a Kevin Pritchard build team. Players with health question marks are his thing: Oden, Roy, Anigbogu, Sumner, Brogdon, Warren. So if more players on your team miss or can be expected to miss games, you are a bit less deeper than other teams with players with better health.

That and I like to see Holiday and Sumner show that they really deserve to get meaningful minutes during the entire season.
I don't know every team but some teams can have more proven players at the guard position than we have right now.

So to me it's a general and a specific situation.

Gotta find extra value somehow as a small market team. Larry's was guys with character concerns - Monta, Lance, Artest, Bynum, Jackson, Tinsley.

True and I'm positive Kevin will make a hit with such a player, who will stay healthy and give the Pacers some great times again :)

Good thing they just invested in that new medical facility.

Or was that the taxpayer?
