Please please please God no don't even think of trading for that dude. He couldn't win with Durant or Paul George so why could he win with us? And his play style is cancerous. A guy who chucks a ton of threes but can't hit them and steals rebounds from teammates to get his triple doubles. Nope don't want anything to do with him. Plus his contract is also really terrible.

I don't think we're winning a title or signing a big name in the next 4 yrs anyway. Russ would expire at the same time as Sekou, so if he became a superstar you'd have a chance to sign someone then.

We can do the “I don’t think we’ll win in the next ____ years so we may as well go for it” thing forever as long as we never take those steps to rebuild. That logic will always be there. Similar logic used to justify Blake, Josh Smith, etc. All the deals really do is extend that mediocrity, something people don’t realize until a year or 2 later even though this has all happened before.

I know it’s been a long time since we’ve been good. Patience is gone with this team. But I really do believe letting deals expire and accumulating young assets is the way to get us out of this. We’ve finally seen some (albeit slight) signs that we’re doing that. No long term FA deals. Picked a long term high upside prospect rather than some role player we can try to plug into our lineup with our draft pick.

It’s not sexy. It won’t happen overnight. But it’s the way.

WB, Drummond, and Blake as a core with basically no shooters is a 1st round exit at best. Which...is what happened to OKC this year. So we run that back...? Why?

That's why we include picks... My proposal included Sekou and picks. Also, we are a very different team then OKC. completely different supporting cast and head coach and we are in the east, which has taken a step back.

I just don't see us giving up Sekou yet, he's become this insurance policy for the front office in case everything goes wrong and we need to rebuild.

Also, as much as your trade is good, I don't see WB as that type of player anymore. He's just really taken a step back last year with his erratic shooting. Triple doubles are good, but how good are they if they end up just bouncing you out the 1st round?

He takes rhythm out of his own teammates for triple doubles and his dumb full shot clock 3 pointers drove PG and KD out of town. He's not a great playoff player at all.

I understand the hesitation to trade for Westbrook and recognize his flaws. However, I personally think this is a good opportunity to get us a star without breaking the bank. He had a bad playoff run and dropped his value. We need to buy when his value is low imo. I would prefer trading for a star wing instead but beggars can't be choosers.

There is a small chance Russ now goes through a self reflection process and realizes that his way and how he goes about his business on the court, might not be for the best.

He's played with 3 all world talents in his career, and not only are none of them still with him but none have spoken of him highly.

If he gets traded, i think it ups the chances he looks inward and might find humbility.

Westbrook was an Arn Tellem client. Just sayin'

Also Sekou Doumbouya sat out the SL game with what was described as a minor hamstring strain. The guy coaching said "I don't know - we just listen to what the doctors tell us" deflection when asked why Sekou sat out. Maybe he was held out because he's in trade talks and the injury was a over story?

Yeah, but why not CT. It's Saturday morning in July.

Woj reported Presti wanted Siakam in any TO deal for Paul. Who is Doumbouya most compared to as his ceiling potential - Pascal Siakam.

Dun...dun...DUN!!!!!

(He was a Tellem client though)

not only is this a stretch, but i don’t even think it’s possible at this time since sekou just signed his rookie contract, meaning he can’t get traded until mid-season.

If Detroit was angling for Russ, having Leuer's contract now would help them quite a bit. Could've offered all expirings.

Reggie/Leuer/Galloway/1st.

It would make more sense to include Sekou than Kennard if you go to the "win now" route.

If it can be done with us keeping Sekou then im in. We would definitely be giving up alot of our future picks and youth to get him and we would need to keep some sort of future prospect here

Hard pass on Westbrook at the cost of Sekou or Kennard and multiple 1sts...it would be a flashy shortsighted move and honestly we wouldn't be true contenders.

I’ll admit Sekou being moved is my main fear here.

I really don’t want that contract though.

If its a matter of Sekou vs Kennard, give me the frenchman.

I'll take the high ceiling guy over the high floor guy every time. High floor guys aren't all that tough to find.

Include Minnesota for "Reggie can't go to OKC" purposes, and work in a S&T for Rose so we have our Full MLE back!!

Remember Markieff tweeted something like "one down, one to go" when he signed here. If we S&T'd for Rose we could spend the MLE on Mook.

Of course Rose might already be official here.

Please no Westbrook. Russell is on the downside of his career, going to make $40M and there is a reason no star wants to play with him. 42% from the floor and 29% from three and he is going to be 31 this year.. No thank you...
