Look, I hate Simmons more than anybody here, but Simmons is way better than Westbrick. We need to get better first and foremost. Westbrook is a negative player and a cancer the moment he plays in your team.

HE STAY... lol

I'm happy the Raptors got their championship out of Kawhi, but my god was their fan base obnoxious, so him leaving makes me happy too (on top of the obvious reason that the East got that much easier).

Active users on realgm probably just got cut in half based on that move, at least on the general board.

Kawhi deciding against the Lakers, and Durant leaving the Warriors means that there are no teams in the league that are definitely better than us.

We are in the top tier now with the Lakers, Clippers, Warriors, and Bucks. All of those teams have the ability to win 60 plus games and win the title.

Next year the Nets probably join that group.

Since I personally feel that the Sixers would beat the Bucks in a 7 game series I feel for the first time since maybe 2002 that we go into the season as the favorite to make the finals.

Embiid better be working on slimming down and improving his stamina, and Simmons better be working on his shot because we have an historic opportunity here. A championship window is opening, and history tells us that they don’t stay open forever.

Assuming health, I predict a Sixers Lakers nba finals next year.

I’m just biding my time for Eagles season to start so I have something to take my interest for a bit until the NBA season starts.

Westbrook is the #7 ranked player in NBA by SI, they have Ben Simmons #26. Behind Greek Freak Westbrook may be the most exciting dynamic player in nba, His assists numbers are off the charts and could be that break down offensive go-to-guy the Sixers need to win a Title the next 3-4-5 years.

Trade surrounding Russell Westbrook + Ben Simmons. You in or out?

Jesus Christ. I wouldn’t take Westbrook into open cap room let alone trade Ben Simmons for him.

I think people assuming that it's just going to be the Sixers and Bucks are getting a little ahead of themselves. Some other Eastern Conference team is going to see an opportunity and join the party just like the Raptors did last year. Could be the Heat, which would be wild.

Simmons develops and we win the title....same Simmons and we'll lose in the 2nd round..maybe conference finals.

Expect the Heat to try very hard to trade for Westbrook. They have no other way to get a "star" and not enough assets to get a real one.

A Butler/Westbrook duo would implode sooner or later, but they could push for the 2nd or 3rd round for a year or two.

I feel very pleased that the GM wasn't stupid enough to listen to public pressure, and "run it back" with ill-fitting parts.

We're very fortunate that we got Richardson. Lucky that Jimmy wanted to go to the Heat and credit Brand for getting a very good player out of the deal. I wouldn't like this team nearly as much if we'd just resigned Redick with that space or something.

No different than I felt a week ago. Completely uninspired and uninterested in this team and the upcoming season and I plan to do other things with my time than spend 2.5 hours a night watching.

Well you can never assume anything really, and it’s like 10 months from now when the playoffs start again.

At this point though, going into the start of the season, the Sixers and Bucks should be big favorites to be the top two teams in the east.

We need a number of things to go right for that to be the case though.

I am extremely excited for this upcoming season! I absolutely love what the Clippers just did! A lot of parity in the league this year. I think the overall balance definitely favors the west at the moment, but at least we don't have just one titan super team in total control of the league. I think this is the first year in quite some time where we don't have a clear cut favorite to win it all.

It's Way too early to tell who comes out of the west, but I really like our chances of representing the east this year. We're far from a lock to do anything, but our team is impressive on paper. As always with a team in contention, it's super important that some of our role players step up for us. That right now is my biggest concern with this team. Who on the bench is going to step up and be our Fred Van Vleet, our Derek Fisher, ya know....John Paxson, Eddie House, Jaren Jackson.....All these teams that have won titles have had a player on their bench step up and win them a game. I have high hopes for Zhaire Smith, but we'll see.

Seems like a a lot of misinformation/jumping the gun because you dislike the guy. It was only after they negotiated the Butler deal they said that they even started talks with his agent and that was 5 days ago. I don't even know if he could have signed anything yet.

I like it for the Sixers though because the Lakers dont get him. Also I like that every reporter besides Woj counted out the Clippers making them look like idiots. I dont follow the cap situation real close but heard the Lakers had to have Leonard signed by the 6th because of cap issues. Did this signing hurt the Lakers cap space by waiting to sign until today?

They’ll be lucky to get off that Westbrook contract for free.

Why? Its the Knicks. They'd probably give up atleast Barrett and multiple firsts.

The worst thing about the trade is Tobias has to defend either Kawhi or PG in the finals

Maybe Ben on Kawhi then JRich on PG? Hide Tobi on KCP. Then Biid bulldoze Zubac and Montrell

Richardson would definitely be on George. It would be a win if the Clippers would try to have George do bully ball and post ups on Richardson. Richardson is a fiesty post defender even if he didn't do it often with the Heat.

I think George would kill Tobias all over the court.
