Hypothetically if we trade DSJ and expirings for Russ and then let frank and any other expiring contracts go how much cap space could we have next summer. Because we need Westbrook and Draymond. The anti-kd squad

Draymond is a terrible addition next year

If it were something simple like. Dennis Smith frank and mavs pick and a lotto protected Knicks pick in ‘23. Then ok. Maybe I’d bite
He just doesn’t fit the timeline. Costs a lot of money. Then costs a lot to acquire.
You want trade targets that fit the timeline. Wait for Beal , Devin booker , oladipo to ask out.
My guess is booker asks out this year and Id expect knicks to target him
None of the guys you mention are all around players like Westbrook is.
2020 FA is terrible. The contracts we signed these players to were by design very favorable/tradeable.

I'd give them a a really really good return for SGA but no way they're gonna trade him. He';s who i wanted in the Knox draft. They should at least make that call and put names like K.Knox, A.Trier, DSJ, Frank, Dotson and at least one 1st round pick out there for him. Or just offer them a couple 1st round picks. That kid is gonna be a stud but again i don't think they trade that kid and probably forced the Clips to put him in any deal for PG.
i don't want to deviate from my anti-knox stance (despite his solid play during SL yesterday), but if okc wants knox, trier, dsjr for SGA, i'd do it in a heartbeat. not sure i'd want to move picks, though. for me it'd depend how dallas does this season. if dallas overplays this season, i'd do that with one of their picks for SGA - but like you said, i doubt they do it.
I don't know what it would take but i would definitely at the very least make that call to OKC to find out. The kid plays both sides of the ball and does them both well. Shot just under 37% from 3, just under 48% FG and 80% from the line. He's Frank with offense.

You gotta stay the course. This is another test for the front office. We will give up to much to get Westbrook. He doesn’t fit the timeline or anything. This screams of past gms
Stay the course. Let the young guys take there lumps
One of. Devin booker , Beal , towns , will be the way to go.
Cole Anthony / booker / Barrett / randle / Mitch

How is the contract any different than Durants? Or Kyries? He is 30 not 35. Enough prime left in the tank.

Wouldn’t it be impossible for us to trade for Westbrook?

Did you listen to the Lowe podcast with Jay Williams? Jay kind of hinted at Durant would have liked to play with KP.
I don’t know if it’s true or not b/c as proven time and again, these talking heads know very little.
i mean DAL had a max spot and couldn't recruit anyone there with KP and Luka....
True. I think he was saying it’s the combination of KP + New York, though.
I’m not taking any of it as gospel. The lesson from this FA (well one of them) is you can’t take these talking heads too seriously.
But yet you still brought it up out of nowhere so you're clearly trying to show that the Knicks messed up with the KP trade which i'm pretty sure 98% of us are over and good with the KP trade. Just sayin.

Our contracts are tradable in December or is it one month?

At the time that KD or Kyrie's contracts were in play, we actually had money to pay for them without having to gut the roster or go into salary cap hell for a few years.
Now? Not so much. Cap space is spent.Hard pass on Russ.

How could you not want to trade scrubs like dsjr frank and trier for a talent like that??
Only knick fans man smfh.
You think he deserved it over Beal?
Absolutely,Russell westbrook in the eastern conference is totally different player. I beleive he could do what kawhi did.
He couldn't do it with K.Durant, J.Harden or P.George. Russ is not a player that other players love playing with and if you don't have chemistry then you aren't getting anywhere but to the playoffs.

Taj, Portis, Ellington, Bullock, DSJ, Frank and 3-4 First round picks. So good.

I hear u, but I'm just a lil weary. Now dont get me wrong. If we were to somehow get russ I'd be ecstatic. I'm a huge russ fan. Nothing would make smile more than seeing him throw it down on spencer dimwit at the Barclay's and walk over him. Sorry I started day dreaming.KnixinSix wrote:3eePointGoal wrote:I'm a big russ fan... he plays w grit... the contract is the problem.

and the clippers wouldn't have been a playoff team without Kawhi so not sure it matters. And we have no idea what the west will look like in a year...we don't own the mavs pick next year...its the 2021 pick.
GSW
Clippers
Lakers
Utah
Denver
Portland
Rockets
all those are pretty much locks now.
1 spot for the rest of the crew.
i'm not sure GSW makes it. isn't it only curry and draymond for next season? isn't klay out for the season? durant's in BKN. and iggy left, and probably cousins as well (cousins would be smart to go back to GSW for one more year and prove himself with one of the best playmakers in the NBA).
who else does GS have?
They traded for DLo and brought K.Looney back and signed W.Cauley Stein.

I think we may have to wait until Jan 15 before we could match salaries. Nothing to see here

Westbrook is way overrated . He’s a stat padder and jacks up way too many shots. He is just not that good.

Trade deadline is Feb 6th so let’s reevaluate by then. I’m sure by that point Russ already has a torn acl or something
