first of all, thats messed to wish upon someone. its basektball fam, chill out

2nd, the man played injured for us. he could have sat out like he did in SA and not risk his health. he didnt, he played even tho we was clearly hurt (man legit would limp every other play at times).

The dishonesty doesn't come from knowing Kawhi wanted LA. The dishonesty comes from the way he did it.

The whole narrative -"oh, Kawhi is thinking about this VERY carefully and he hasn't made up his mind, that's why it's taking so long" was a lie. Pure and simple. He was stalling for time for the trade, not because he was trying to make a hard decision.

Showing up at a Jays game and wearing a Jays shirt to get a picture taken was all part of the deception that the Raptors were still being considered.

Fans are right to be angry, not because he left....but because of the underhanded way he did it.

What happened with the Spurs and in free agency doesn't impact what Kawhi risked taking Toronto to the Finals. He easily could have called it a day mid season and still get to LA. He was committed to Toronto and gave his heart and soul here. The guy is no snake. I really think the PG power play by the Clippers clinched what was likely a splitn decision until that point.

Do you think he would have gave it his all if the Raptors weren’t contenders though? He saw a chance to win a championship and took it. It’s not like he didn’t benefit from his season here.

Exactly. I mean Toronto was destined to end the current run next year with those expiring deals (Lowry, Ibaka). The gamble on Kawhi was worth it, and he delivered with total class all the way.

The only thing is Toronto couldn't pivot like Golden State did with the Durant sign and trade. It would be nice to get something, anything back; but that is what happens sometimes. Both the Lakers and Clippers had nothing to offer, and Kawhi was willing to settle for less.
